I'm finally heading my own software engineering project at work and, since I call the shots, it's up to me to decide on what collaboration and review tools we utilize on the project. I'm pretty well decided on git for source code management but what are your favourite linux tool for bug tracking, code review, collaboration, etc?

Writing bug reports on napkins and keeping them crumpled in a large black garbage bag is better than this fucking piece of crap called JIRA.

I generally prefer FOSS options, although I'm not militant about open source or anything. Any good alternatives you can recommend that are better than your napkin technique?

You might want to do a bit of configuring - we have added a range of additional fields and enumerations to the issue tracker records, but it is flexible enough to handle that.

LOL! What methodology are you using? This will affect your choice of tools.

Several projects use bugzilla. -- Cheers, Carlos.

You could try using the 'Projects' option on GitHub. It has kanban-style boards you can use to plan projects. The 'Issues' feature is good for keeping track of bugs. You can also add notes and tasks and stuff like that if you don't want to create an issue (if you're not sure if something should be filed as an issue or not), and then later you can convert it to an issue. It's all pretty cool :)

I really like trackers like bugzilla. It keeps everything very well organized. If you end up using GitHub, its issue tracker and pull request system also works very nicely for outside contributors.
