UML can be used to express designs which are then implemented using object
oriented programming techniques in C.

There is no support in C for *directly* expressing the concepts in UML, using
just the language, without adhering to the conventions of some supporting OO
programming framework.

Some aspects of UML can't be directly expressed in some OO languages either.
For instance, an N:1 relationship expressed dirctly in UML may require you to
define some extra members in an object: list or set structures that hold
references to other objects. These auxiliary things don't appear in the UML.

A C implementation will have more cruft that doesn't appear in the UML.
(Perhaps so much so that you have to wear special UML glasses in order to see
the original UML design when looking at the code.)

Ok, thanks Kaz.
