It's your own time, and therefore you have the right to waste it as you see 
fit.  I hope you find it to be a valuable learning experience, because from 
your description and your design goals, it has absolutely no other purpose 
or usefulness than that one, as it sounds like a pointless exercise in 
implementing a whole new platform based on a string of bad design decisions.
