I began with Genetics algorithms. I program the simplest example from book David E.Goldberg "Genetic Algorithms in Search, Optimization, and Machine Learning": 5 bits individuals fining maximum of x^2 (will 31) In this case individuals are chosen using roulette proportional to x^2 but in other situations is not good using similar. For example, individuals can generate error func and less is better. Killing all individuals below median , quantile, is also bad solution, all must have chance.
