I've noticed that HTTPS is still much much slower than HTTP. Can someone help me understand this? Is it really the case that the encryption/decryption is so intensive that it makes it so slow? I guess the bottleneck is probably the server, which may be handling many HTTPS requests simultaneously? Anyone know? Thanks.
