And, before you should ask, I detest low calorie beer as well, so I can't make any recommendation. However, should Lawrence give up VAX consumption altogether, he could try Alpha as its instructions are all 4 bytes but then, Lawrence may complain about that too but I didn't design its architecture either! Professor Hathaway's real problem was that he used the intellect of several good and brilliant others to produce for him as his own effort and for his own personal selfish gains, and then he fucked over the others after they'd produced for him.
