Let me apologize: I wrongly used "bridging" wat I needed is called WISP

It is a FLA for Wireless Internet Service Provider, a glorified access
point.

(what is FLA: Four Letter Abbreviation)

The OP is outside of the proper networking terminology like a garden
hose. He's trying to cove it with abbreviations found from the press.

That's why it needs a better name.

How about ETLA (Extended Three-Letter Abbreviation)?

I know what WISP means, but just wonder what "WISP *mode*" means and its
relationship with masquerading.

Maybe I misunderstand.

Are you saying that the setup on Linux based routers where wlan0 and
eth* are under br0 is now disabled?

OK re-reading in my example wlan0 is the access point, so not the same
thing.

Indeed a wireless interface in "master" mode can still be bridged.
