Hi, I'm attempting to setup multicast routing from our main network, through a unicast router on an internal IP, to one of our WAN sites. So far I've attempted to use mrouted and smcroute from a local Linux box to a Linux box located at the remote site, as well as DVMRP from a Cisco router to mrouted running on a the remote Linux box. I can get the multicast packets through the tunnel to show up on the tunnel interface on the far Linux machine, but haven't been able to put these packets onto the main interface (eth0). I've been able to achieve this scenario using all three of the above methods, using DVMRP, OpenVPN and GRE as the tunnel, but still no joy in getting it across onto the main interface (eth0). Using TCPDump I can see the packets I'm interested in showing up on the end of the tunnel interface (tcpdump -i <tun_int> ip multicast) from the 239.x.x.x multicast network, but no matter what I try, I still can't these to move to eth0. I've even attempted bridging the interfaces at both the local and remote ends, but the packets still don't appear. I'm using kernel 2.6.37 and I've also tried on 2.6.31, neither of which work. I'm obviously missing something very simple, but just can't seem to put my finger on what it is. Happy to provide any more information required. Thanks, Andrew Bruce

I don't really know much about multicast, but have got simple things to work in the past. Maybe ip ro add dev eth0 224.0.0.0/4 will help
