Sorry to both of you. At the end it was a problem with the network 
interfaces I guess. We had a bond and my theory is was that one of the 
interface fell off the bond and resulted in one interface and one bond doing 
the same job (an probabably one missconfigured inside the bond).

I solved it deleting all the interfaces and creaing them one by one, 
attaching them to the MAC.

What puzzled me was the posssibility to ping some nodes of the network and 
without any problem to other networks (all going out through the bond) but 
missing it with some nodes in teh same network.
