But do agree about Hanoi Jane. CONSISTENT
sucker for the propaganda of dictators,
despots and deadly loons. If it is
anti-USA/west she LOVES it. IS high-IQ,
but clearly that's no shield against
   dreadful propaganda. The perfect "useful

Trump has never been anything BUT smart.
   Carefully-crafted image and empire for
many many years. Pretty good at biz too.
Seems to 'get' politics and political

   "unconventional", which was needed.

You don't have to like him, but don't

Do you *really* believe that?
Or did you just believe *him* when he said it.

If its smart to lose money, get bailed out by Russia and pretend you
made it all through being smart, I guess maybe it is. Just not in the
way you think.

But none of his actions on the international stage show any sign of
being smart or being able to cut a deal. The reverse in fact,

He hasn't stopped any wars. He's started one.

He hasn't made America great again, he (and by association, America that
elected him) is treated universally with contempt and amusement. Even
Iran is laughing at him

He hasn't cut any great deals, His idiotic tariff regime has simply lost
trading partners to trade with other parts of the world.

His refusal to live up to his commitments to Europe and to let Ukraine
use US manufactured and serviced weapons over Russian territory has
simply caused Europe to start manufacturing cheaper weapons that they
have control over. And stop buying US ones.

I fail to see a single smart thing he has done, apart from easing back
on 'renewable energy'

But even that was all for the wrong reasons

   A necessary, but delayed-almost-TOO-long, war.

Reagan should have blasted Iran. Sentiment

Anyway, clearly you always see the worst in Trump.

ROFLMAO!

They are not 'business people' they are Mafiosi.

Silk suits and slicked back hair and a Glock in each pocket

They got where they are by blackmail, murder, bribery and corruption.

Donny loves all that shit, He admires it.

I've met their sons and daughters. Euthanasia is too good for them

I think old Sue may have more time to spend with her family shortly. No
big loss. Maine had to have a bit of drama with Platner before finding a
willing Democrat. Snowe was never of much use either. I lived in southern
Maine for a couple of years so nothing surprises me. Stephen King doesn't
write novels rather than altering Maine life with mild fictionalizing.

One doesn't have to imply it. He simply is "thicker than two short
planks and twice as wide", as the saying goes.

It's the twice as wide bit that makes stupid people think he is smart...

"In slang, the word "wide" primarily functions as part of the British
term "wide boy," which describes a clever, street-smart person who makes
a living through shady deals, petty scams, or hustling"

   I'm *so* disappointed ......

Like with Jane, another case where IQ does

Well in your case I agree.

But I am not sure your IQ is that high to begin with.

I've seen dozens of Donald's in my life, I've worked with them, I've
been stiffed for millions by them.

They succeed because they are psychopaths, and psychopaths have no
conscience, no empathy, and absolutely no relationship with truth at
all. All they care about is winning.

Everything is a game, and the only respite from their inner emptiness is
to be noticed and to appear to be winning. They will abandon any
promise the moment its convenient, they always lie because they have no
idea what the truth is - only what people want to hear.

The only way to win with them is not to play. Because they will break
all the rules and think its 'smart'

In the end no one will do business with them unless they have them
totally compromised. They do not respond to conscience or reason, They
only respond to superior force.

Donny is a classic. So is Putin.

The problem with them is that they are incapable of creating anything.
They are always destructive. Sometimes that's useful. Mostly it isn't

Putin has destroyed the Oligarch's Russia. Trump has destroyed
America's international reputation.

Perhaps both needed doing

In many ways, yes. But when it comes to fleecing
people out of billions of dollars, he is a master.

Never underestimate your enemy.

He has a large military under his command, to convince others to part
with their money. That doesn't mean he is clever, just that he has the
power to bully others.

The late Scott Adams predicted Trump's success in 2016 when most of the
world was in the Never Trump camp. He based it on Trump's abilities as a
master manipulator rather than any presidential qualities. After the
election he did favor Trump.

Ann Coulter was another early supporter but fired up her acid tongue when
the Big Beautiful Wall never happened. On the AI theme, here is her latest
snark:

I got the impression that Scott Adams didn't necessarily agree with
Trump's platform, but was impressed by his powers of manipulation.

The book was published after the election but it expanded on his blog and
X (Twitter) comments prior to the election. From his blog after Trump got
in office I think he developed respect for Trump beyond his huckster
abilities.

That was about when I decided that although he wrote a damned fine
comic strip, I wouldn't want to deal with him in person.
