Persia has been pretty kick-ass at various times.

Alexander squished Persia - but had no success
   with Hindustan.

Persia would LIKE to be a big scary all-controlling
jihadi nuclear power right now. Does that sound good
   for everyone else ?

Anyway, power/capability shifts between nations and
regions all the time. Human nature, anyplace that
thinks it's superior at the moment WILL try to take
over everywhere else. Seems built into our brains,
the 'dominance hierarchy' thing taken to the next
level. He who pecks the most heads WINS.

Because, as one Jewish GF advised me. 'so they know where they stand'

All this social freedom is simply too much for many people. They want to
be told what to do and provided with enough money to do it and then they
can relax switch off and cease to become individuals.

It's all a function of what works in the current stable economic society.

Various mores arise because in a given context they 'work'

The problem comes when they are transferred to a culture where they do not.

Yes, I've seen the groups of U.S. women who can't wait to give up the vote.

One solution is to transform the culture. This is now happening in the U.S.

However, as insurance statistics show, people who 'put their trust in
Jesus'. or say 'In'shallah' every time they pull out in front of a
truck, do not improve the durability of the culture they seek to subvert

I was hiking up Wheeler Peak in Nevada and was close to the summit but
there was a line of thunderstorms moving in across the valley. I chose to
get the hell of the mountain. A woman coming up the trail asked how far it
was the summit and I said I wasn't sure since I hadn't went to the summit.
'Jesus is my lord and savior and he will protect me.' 'Honey, I roll with
Wotan and he's got no time for fools.'

I had just made it down to the treeline when the wind, rain, hail, and
lightning hit. I assume Jesus girl had a lot of fun.

Reminds me of a scene from "Caddyshack"...

Its all part of God Swill.

I was brought up to believe that you should never give offence if you
can avoid it; the new culture tells us you should always take offence if
you can. There are now experts in the art of taking offence, indeed
whole academic subjects, such as 'gender studies', devoted to it.

Hmm ... plenty of times I did NOT make it downhill
before the storms hit. Spectacular view from the
   tree-line :-)

   There's a REASON it's the "tree-line" ... because
everything above gets BLASTED TO SPLINTERS by the
   lightning storms.

Anyway, favor Thor and you should be OK :-)

Perhaps, but they're just the shock troops.
There's plenty more where they came from.
That's probably why the leaders want to get the birth rate up.

Those 'mores' are more a function of total asshole
men who crave to be total masters of someone. The
women tend to be easier targets.

Got one name for Moslem women "Lorena Bobbit" :-)

It's really not that simple.

IN a tribal world, women depend on the men for safety. They walk three
steps behind for safety. They are covered to avoid arousing male
penises. Arranged marriages prevent irregular behaviour or - heaven
forfend - marrying outside the tribe. So marry your cousin, and stop
raping other women, and rape her instead. All in the family.

It's the way Allah intended it, so STFU or get beaten

>    Got one name for Moslem women "Lorena Bobbit"  🙂

But where would they GO? Being cut off from ones family, ones tribe, is
very very hard.
Ask the people who left Mormonism etc.

People - it's NEVER "simple" ... but you CAN
   find certain patterns, common elements.

Umm ... 'covered' was a more northern invention.
And maybe the boners were not entirely unwanted
a lot of the time :-)

See what you did - applied relatively modern
'morals' and assumptions about "What Women Want"
to the entire world across 300,000+ years. SO
   easy to do ...

Even now, central Africa and jungle Amazonia,
plenty of butt-nekked people. Too fuckin' hot
for anything else. Any 'who is with whom', if
   any, is organized other ways.

> It's the way Allah intended it, so STFU or get beaten

"Beaten" is the least of it ...

>>    Got one name for Moslem women "Lorena Bobbit"  🙂

Unless 'The Tribe' becomes TOO horrible ...

> Ask the people who left Mormonism etc.

Mormons CAN be kinda vengeful ... but not nearly
   so much as Scientologists.

A major POINT in 'religions' is that only YOU
know what's going on and why and exactly what
to DO. All others are idiots at minimum -
   intolerable distractions/enemies/devils often.
The "One True Way" is the ONE True Way.

Again, this seems to just 'wired' in humans.

Anyway, for fun, the CIA should infiltrate the
Lorena Bobbit legend into Iran and Afghanistan.
Doesn't matter if a single woman is interested,
the hyper-dominant MEN will get all paranoid,
thus much worse, thus soon BREAK their societies.

You really do not understand about Muslim women do you?
In the end family loyalty, honour, and tribalism trumps everything
else, including individual freedom

And, without that tribalism, they cannot survive in their original contexts.

Exactly so. Those vulgar gunners when faced with loading the gun from
the other end, coined the term...

Look up 'kissing the gunners daughter' for a bit of random naval history...

A breech is not a gap. It is the arse end of a gun, or a human.
As in breech loader, or breech birth where the babies shithole comes first.
It is also an archaic name for trousers (pants to you) modified in US
englsish to 'britches' rather than 'breeches' and in northern UK
dialects to 'breeks'

Breach is a *break*.

Juts because no gives a shit about spelling or ever looks it up doesn't
magfically change the etymology of a word.
And brakes are not breaks, either.

There are a couple of places where a trail follows a high voltage

Had it run over my garden here, too low to put up a second storey.
Paid a lot to get it underground, but it trebled the property value and
enabled me to build a much larger house.

Humming is normal. "Crackling" is NOT !
