Hey, almost NOBODY reads beyond the summary paragraph ! :-) Subscribed to a number of top journals back in the day (before they went 'Woke'). They all have a 'summary' paragraph at the top - but it does not get into all the DETAILS. DO still take Sigma-Xi, "American Scientist", however. It's pretty good. CAN find "Archeology" mag on the rack at the supermarket too. Those kind-of resisted "Woke-Ism". Just The Facts, without much socio-political "Woke" BS. Dropped "Scientific American" a long time ago ... became just horrible. Corrupted, biases, politically-serving farce of "science". SA keeps sending me letters pleading for a renewed subscription. NO !!! NEVER !!! It's gone. RUINED itself. 100+ years DOWN THE CRAPPER !

This article was created for educational purposes and I suggest you take these tips and information with a good heart because it can help you prevent an unpleasant situation! It’s difficult to believe that a little over 100 years ago not only did people rarely if ever lock their doors in the United States many houses didn’t even have locks on the doors. In today’s world, filled with atrocious headlines and daily murders, that thought is as strange a concept as not having to pay federal taxes. Especially with regard to the large cities that dot the country side of America. The brutal crime rate and their remarkable progress in the 20th century are unparalleled around the world. The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave has also given liberty to many destructive activities. These atrocities encompass every severe offense you can think of, from murder and attempted murder to reckless property crimes such as breaking and entering. Are there neighborhoods in the U.S. that are too dangerous to visit? I’ve driven through all of the 50 most dangerous neighborhoods in America, one of my many unusual travel goals, and very few were uncomfortably unsafe just driving through. I wouldn’t get out of the car and walk around though. To answer the question, there are probably nine neighborhoods of the 70,000 across America that I personally wouldn’t recommend anyone visiting, even merely driving through, unless you’re a local or have family there. Almost NOBODY, NO place, is really set up for a Major Disaster. Being so would be TOO expensive. You could spend an entire national GDP on trying to set THAT up. TOO many ways things can go to crap. So, sorry, sometimes you're just gonna be On Your Own for awhile, maybe a LONG while. Prepared ??? Plan ??? What DO you do ???

Besides places where the local law enforcement authorities were already more of high school bullies, I guess that now has to include any place to which ICE has been deployed. When you can be killed by a law enforcement officer "restraining" you way beyond proportional or legal response, or beaten or shot to death merely by existing around high school bullies with ICE badges, you can't really say that's a place that's not dangerous. I'd not be surprised if deaths and violence caused by ICE ended up surpassing non-ICE crimes in a lot of places. -- Nuno Silva

The clickbait headline and cartoon melodrama of the prose tell you a lot about the author's intent here, I think. Urban blight may be real enough, but in my experience most people's takes on it say more about their preconceptions of a neighborhood than the place itself. Still remember going to see Dragonforce in a south Minneapolis club ca. 2022 and having relatives absolutely *insist* on picking us up afterward because they were dead convinced it was a "war zone" after the 2020 protests. What'd we run into on the mean streets? Just a buncha totally ordinary city folk hustling from one corner to the next. People here in CA talk about Oakland the same way; I've been through there and gotten nothing but funny looks.

The author stated that if you stay on the main boulevards you can go into the areas he mentioned, but that side streets with no street signs where GPS is spotty could make you a target for property crime, carjacking, or worse. It seems like good advice to me, especially if you were, say, a German tourist family in Florida visiting America with your wife and kids who were targeted by "youths", never cautioned by the "woke" car rental company to avoid certain areas known to be high crime danger zones. I lived in Washington, DC, and remember parts of DC where you lock your car doors and don't stop at stop signs or red lights if you want to avoid being a victim of crime. Situational awareness is a good survival instinct in lots of places. That Ukrainian woman who was killed by a Black man on an Charlotte, NC light rail train while other passengers "minded their own business" would be alive today had she been more fearful of the homeless dude that slit her throat. Just saying. https://globalnews.ca/news/11404303/ukrainian-woman-iryna-zarutska-stabbed-attack-train-decarlos-brown-jr/ According to an affidavit viewed by ABC News, Iryna Zarutska boarded the train and sat in an aisle seat directly in front of the suspect, Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, who can be seen in a window seat wearing an orange sweatshirt. The train travels for “approximately four and a half minutes before the suspect pulls a knife out of his pocket, unfolds the knife, pauses, then stands up, and strikes at the victim three times,” according to the outlet. Before the stabbing, there appeared to be “no interaction between the victim and defendant,” the affidavit said. Zarutska was pronounced dead at the scene, and witnesses directed officials to the location of the suspect. I think. Others may not be so lucky. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Reginald_Denny Reginald Oliver Denny (born 1953) is a former construction truck driver who was pulled from his truck and severely beaten during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. His attackers, a group of black men who came to be known as the "L.A. Four", targeted Denny because he was white. The attack was captured on video by a news helicopter and broadcast live on U.S. national television. Four other black L.A. residents who had witnessed the attack on live television came to Denny's aid, placing him back in his truck and driving him to the hospital. Denny suffered a fractured skull and impairment of his speech and ability to walk, for which he underwent years of rehabilitative therapy. After unsuccessfully suing the City of Los Angeles, Denny moved to Arizona, where he worked as an independent boat mechanic and has mostly avoided media contact. -- Israel’s Ben Gvir Calls For Nightly Kill Quota In Gaza Ben Gvir: “There are people there who are not alive.
