Which is part of why it is difficult for _me_ to turn off the screen.
I'm trying to pay less attention to what's going on in the United States
though. Much like YouTube which knows you so well that it always has yet
another video for you to watch, American news has just enough drama for
you to keep your eyes peeled. Trying to get away from what seems to be
an endless distraction is proving to be very difficult.

These days I have somehow arrived at a helicopter view.
I KNOW that its 99.9% propaganda paid for by someone who has a vested
interest in shoving shit into your brain, so I try to have a meta view,
to work out who is that someone and why they want that particular shit
shoved in.

It's remarkable how the probable answer comes up as 'the Kremlin' 'Arab
oil states' or 'Some Big Business'

Comparison of the propaganda is interesting. It isn't in the news cycle
today but often the western press reports on Ukrainian civilians killed by
Russian drones. Oddly RT reports on Russian civilians killed by Ukrainian
drones. Sometimes there is an element of humor.

https://www.rt.com/russia/644451-rt-speaks-with-russian-farmer-fined-
firing-ukrainian-uav/

"Nikolay Mukhin has said his love for his country drove him to try to down
the drone with his shotgun"

You've got to give the old guy an A for effort. He was fined for
discharging the shotgun and the shotgun was confiscated but the court
reversed the decision. He would so fit in around here.

That propaganda war isn't a pimple on the ass of the Middle East
propaganda. Even the US MSM is having a hard time reporting on that with a
straight face.

Mostly the UK coverage gives the impression that Russia is beating the
shit out of Ukraine. Its full on Kremlin press releases. Ukraine doesn't
have such established channels, but I find info from elsewhere that
shows Ukraine is in fact beating the shit out of Russia.

Just knocked out their orbital rocket base. No more RuskyStarLink
satellites going up, so coverage is very patchy

40% of Wildberry warehouses are smoking ruins. (Russky Amazon)
60% of oil refining capacity is off line.

Almost nothing but a damaged bridge now connects Russia to Crimea, and
the overland route down the Donbas is a Gauntlet run for trucks with the
routes pretty much controlled by Ukrainian drones even if its nominally
occupied by Russia.

None of this makes it to the MSM. All THEY report on is ballistic
missile strikes on Kyiv civilian targets.

I think it was Goebbels that remarked that a KPD radical that had a change
of heart made a really good SA soldier. You do have to be careful as the
Strassers found out.

Bingo! That looks a lot like my theory.

I think the Taliban are somewhere off the ends.

Both communism and corpocracy have one thing in common. No decisions or
wealth should be left in the hands of the little people.

We are slaves, either to the State or the Company.

And as they call it in Communist [ANC] run South Africa, 'State Capture'
ensures that they are essentially the same thing.

Big Business and State Socialism are very much alike, especially Big
Business.”

“Too much capitalism does not mean too many capitalists, but too few
capitalists.”

G.K. Chesterton

Chesterton and Belloc's distributism followed from Catholic social

He did have a way with words. It gets a bit strange toward the end but I
think of 'The Man Who Was Thursday' every time the FBI makes one of their
orchestrated busts. Six out of seven of the members of the underground
anarchist cell were actually undercover detectives of various agencies.

That might be confused with coprophagia -- or perhaps they are the same
thing. I've always had a soft spot for Old Bill, not wanting to dwell in
Plato's Cloud Cuckoo Land.

I dear, they may well converge as the old doctrine about 'mushroom'
management says "Keep them in the dark and feed them on bullshit"

Ah. That got me for a second. In the UK The Old Bill are in fact the
fuzz, pigs, cops, etc.

Willy Occam understood what everyone else forgot till Hume. A Hypothesis

In which case why be so damned complicated. It was all lies anyway.. No

"Orientate" is an example of the trend toward polysyllabificationizing.

(My other pet peeve: saying "preventative" instead of "preventive".)

“Adaptation” or “adaption”?

Yes.
I love the US 'burglarise'
Both countries needed to make a verb out of the activities of burglars.
The UK chose 'to burgle'.

Many jurisdictions in the US specify burglary as entering an unoccupied
building and home invasion for an occupied building.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_invasion

This state has the castle doctrine with a no retreat clause:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_doctrine

It isn't an automatic license to kill. A local was convicted of murder
since he baited a kid breaking into garages by leaving the door open. It
didn't help that he fired a 12 gauge into the dark garage 4 times without
identifying a target. 4th rule of firearm safety:

Always Be Sure of Your Target and What’s Beyond It

UK law, has breaking and entering, burglary and robbery with violence.
Or did. They reformed it a bit

"The old common law term "breaking and entering" is now encompassed
within the statutory offence of burglary. A person commits burglary if
they enter any building (or part of a building) as a trespasser"

"If a person commits a standard burglary and has with them at the time
any firearm, imitation firearm, explosive, or weapon of offence, it
becomes aggravated burglary"

"Robbery is fundamentally different from burglary because it focuses on
a direct confrontation and theft from a person. A person is guilty of
robbery if they steal and immediately before or at the time of doing so,
and in order to do so, they use force on any person or put/seek to put
any person in fear of being subjected to force"

There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale

In the ever Victorian UK, breaking and entering is always called
"buggery," and was always a tradition in the Royal Navy:
