I don't buy too much music anymore but I preferred DVDs. I do have a changer but I've ripped most of them. It's hard stuffing 100 DVDs into a phone. I have a few video DVDs including a couple in Netflix mailers. At the end they said to not bother returning them. I do miss the feature where I could see which DVDs I'd rented. I'm not good with titles and a couple of times I've been a few minutes into a streaming video before I realized I'd seen it before. At least with Kindle books Amazon has my complete history for better or worse.

It does keep the plumbers in business though. https://www.welthungerhilfe.org/hunger-due-to-drought-in-east-africa I think East Africa needs something other than flush toilets. https://www.businessinsider.com/bill-gates-wants-world-to-move-past-flush- toilets-2018-11 Gates drinking recycled piss reminded me of another thirsty person. It seems he doesn't really want flush toilets. That's just as well as third world countries have shit for sewage systems. I read an article recently where iTunes is still around although they try to push you to an Apple Music subscription. Years ago my boss handed out iPod Shuffles at Christmas. To load my existing music I had to install the Windows iTunes app. What a pile of dog vomit. >> Long long back, Bill Gates/M$ were sort of HEROES. > > Gates was never a hero in my eyes. The M$ C compiler was okay but iitc they bought it from Lattice. I think Allen was the brains and Gates the sales schlock.

Karl Marx would be spinning in his grave if he knew you were claiming that the corporations whose power he was against were in any way the fulfilment of his ideas. The term for private corporations having more power over ordinary citizens’ lives than the Government, is not “Communism”, but “Fascism”. Or possibly “Corporatism”. I think it’s “Fascism” if the Government themselves are in league with the corporates. > ... technically MS-DOS was a pile of crap. A lot of that crap carries over to Windows today. And oddly, some of it (the command-line limitations, drive letters and I think “reserved” file names) actually predates it, going back to the 8-bit CP/M era.

"Corporatocracy" seems to be preferable. > I think it’s “Fascism” if the Government themselves are in league > with the corporates. If you don't want to use the term "fascism" (even Heinlein mentioned the term "corporate fascism" in one of his novels), the term "regulatory capture" seems to be becoming a popular euphemism. -- /~\ Charlie Gibbs | In this world there are \ / <cgibbs@kltpzyxm.invalid> | two kinds of people: X I'm really at ac.dekanfrus | 1. Communism is about the Government taking control of the means of production, not about the owners of the means of production taking control of the Government. To understand the difference, just compare the USA with China right now. One of those is doing one of those things, the other is doing the other one of those things.

Under capitalism, man exploits man.
Under communism, it's just the opposite.
