Malala will be in Ottawa tomorrow, getting honorary Canadian citizenship. I was hoping the trip included a visit to Montreal, but I've yet to see anything mentioned except Ottawa. Maybe I should go for the day, and give her some Linux books. Michael

No worries there.
Their aim is off, and the tool used keeps locking up.

One time in the mid-nineties, Microsoft had some convention here, and I was walking by andat a traffic light were two women obviously at the convention (and working for Microsoft). I said something like "how's the convention" but got no reply, I guess they got that line too many times already. So a stern look, but no guns. But I wasn't wearing a "Unix Lives" tshirt or any similar markings. But just like there's a "Mac type" and a "PC type", I probably look like the stereotype "Unix type". Michael

<tin foil hat>
Some say that Microsoft /was/ responsible for the death of Gary
Kildall, though. All that is really known about his death is that
he died of a severe trauma to the head. Anything else has been
speculation: that he fell while riding his bike, that he had gotten
into a brawl with members of a competing motorcycle club, that he
got mugged, etc.
