#24525 — Customizing xscreensaver GLText

From"Percival P. Cassidy" <Nobody@NotMyISP.net>

The GLText option of xscreensaver offers either System Information *or*
Date and Time.

I have tried without success to come up with a variant, by customizing
the command line, that will display both.

As an interim solution I have created a GLText2 that basically
duplicates GLText, so that GLText can be set to System Information and
GLText2 can be set to Date and Time and then have random changes between
the two, but I'd rather have one that combines both.

Any suggestions?

Perce

I have not used xscreensaver in a while but last I remember you could
set it to a file and just have a cron job cat and grep out something
in /proc/ yes? It also supports UNICODE last time I used it.
