Hello, all. I recently installed the subject OS on an old Dell Dimension 9100. In addition to the DVD installer stuff I subsequently installed gparted. All apps run OK except gparted, gnome-system-monitor and Gnote consistently cause signal-11 faults. Gnome-system-monitor and Gnote still won't run even with gparted uninstalled. I've never experienced a problem with any of these apps on other platforms. Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, -- J. B. Wood e-mail: arl_123234@hotmail.com

Also: No hardware diagnostic is 100% correct in all instances. On /rare/ occasions I've had bad hardware (as confirmed by substitution) pass a diagnostic .

However, the Captain Obvious Award has not yet been extended, so we're
still accepting nominations! :-D
