I'm assuming the new kernel is on the host system.

With a new kernel, you need to compile a new VirtualBox kernel module. 
And, probably, reinstall GuestAdditions.

If you have DKMS installed and the needed VB kernel headers, etc., the
VB kernel module will be updated/recompiled automatically as needed.

 Check the VB manual.  You might also check Arch Linux's wiki on
Virtual Box. Lots of great step-by-step instructions and
troubleshooting there.
