diff -y doesn't seem to be working, or I don't know how to use it.
Even diff'ing the same file, diff alone emits nothing,
but diff -y emits every line of the file, side-by-side, i.e.,
   bash-4.2$ diff test.txt test.txt
   bash-4.2$
but
   bash-4.2$ diff -y -W 60 test.txt test.txt
   This is a test file		This is a test file
   showing that			showing that
   diff -y doesn't work,	diff -y doesn't work,
   at least not when		at least not when
   I'm using it.		I'm using it.
   bash-4.2$
Same thing happens without the -W (but longer lines),
and same thing happens with -yw or any other -switches
I tried that include -y.  I'm using diff --version
diff (GNU diffutils) 3.3
Any way to get that -y to work (or how do you properly
use it)?
