I record TV prtograms.

They end up as .m2t files.
I want to turn them into neat little mpgs and cxlean them up and even 
remove ads.

The first step is to tidy up the execrable crap that seems to be brodcast.

I now have 3 files that I can play, but do nothing else with because 
every single transcoding program I have tried cops out and say 'error'.

what else is there to try?

Oh and are there any GUI front ends that don't look like the flight deck 
of the starship enterprise that, say, autodetect what it is, and make 
sensible assumptions when you tell it what you want it to be?

Or actually come with manuals or help systems that tell you what the 578 
controls actually do and mean?
