I don't use Red Hat myself, although I wouldn't go so far as to say I
have a RED HATE for it.  :-)  However, try posting your questions over
on comp.os.linux.networking, which specializes in such things.  But first,
I'd recommend doing a bit of searching on your own.  Google is your friend
(provided you don't give them your soul by registering or using it as
anything other than a search engine), and there are bound to be FAQ lists
out there that can help you with the general concepts.  Most people get
a bit snarky (and justifiably so) if someone comes in asking things that
show they've made no effort to find them out on their own.

I hope that machine is not connected to the internet in any way.
Red Hat Linux 9 has been unsupported for over 11 years now (EOL
was 30 Apr 2004) and is lacking a huge number of security fixes.
You will have trouble finding software packages to install on it.
