A customised version of NewsRover for Windows is available from Thundernews. It seems not to allow subscription to specific lists, but only to topics. It is a bit like a newsgroup browser. It could be useful some times, but I don't know of anything similar for Linux. --

Those programs are focused on topics as their main aim is downloading software shared in the posts, not actually taking part in discussion. For a time (or probably still, I haven't looked) this dodgy software sharing aspect was was the main attraction of usenet. -- Adrian C

It was never the main attraction to usenet, but for many people (too many) it was the attraction. Michael
