HP650 + default hdd => undiagnosed problems w/ linux dmesg

HP650 + samsung ssd > worse problems

temporary distraction about that bios upgrade business; significant; 
HP650 mobo + 3rd hdd (NOT SSD) also doesn't work.

I would agree that things are looking gloomy (hardware-wise).  mobo/s 
have multiple HDD connections, which has not been addressed here so far.

What happens when you use alternate hdd connection?
