The recommended resolution for my monitor is 1366x768 (16:9).  I have
about twenty websites that I visit regularly, and only one of them is
full screen at that resolution.  I have noticed that Claws Mail is also
full screen, and all the Firefox preference pages are full screen.

The question is, why does usatoday.com show full screen, and cnn.com and
foxnews.com have wasted space on both side of the screen?  Are the
websites not capable of using that resolution, or is it a setting on my
computer that is causing me not to be able to use the recommended
resolution?

In order for the websites to fill the screen, I have to use 1024x768.
