We can split hairs all day, and dig back through years of posts. But the
accusation against me is simply trolling.

Note: it wouldn't be made to fit the need in the first place if it
wasn't worth the effort (to somebody).

I am well aware the stuff I link to from Reddit is complete layperson level. That said, it is good enough. My view: Even if somebody was simply learning just for fun, the notion that attaining know-how as being one of having "zilch" to show for it does not follow because you'll clearly have the intelligence to show for it and know-how is important for the future.

And why the requirement to time a script via Gnome in an embedded system? Predictably, Steven Carroll didn't define this as part of his inevitably always growing 'test' <whatever>. Klaus Schadenfreude pwns Steven Carroll in every way possible. Requesting Steven Carroll to stop trolling, a thing I didn't do, is distinct from spotting his fraud. My meaning was that people stay here to engage trolls. It is not as if honest people don't know what this group is, Klaus Schadenfreude especially.

What I do is certainly more error resistant. By following 'social warriors' like that you get phrases like 'affirmative action'. Carried to its (im)moral solution, the insistence that it's 'immoral' for a traditional male to not wish to date a dead body is instituted. Why does Steven Carroll focus on Klaus Schadenfreude's self-esteem issues so much?

If that somebody wants to put forth the effort to develop it, then
sure. More power to him. But convincing somebody else, or a team
of somebody elses, to do it will generally require enough demand to
lead to some brownie points, acclaim, maybe even money -- or at least
be seen as a benefit for the greater userbase.

Snit obviously has a ton of knowledge to teach and he wishes to share it. Sadly this is without a doubt the worst place for doing that because the majority of response is insulting, misleading and other baloney. Despite my reasoned experiences with Mint, I continue to use it for newbies who have had difficulties with OS X, especially if I feel that they aren't savvy at running multiple programs and recognizing phishing scams. <giggle> Snit created at least one major circus in the last year or so. I am sure he and the herd are proud.

Sadly this is what results when deeply inferior self-respect takes over Klaus 'The Fool' Schadenfreude's worldview.

Hence why the idea that "what people want will be provided" is sorta
silly. We see too many counterexamples.

Where did you go to school? He is as incompetent as Melzzzzz. Melzzzzz must know that others can go get FileMaker, right, tweaker? On top of that, anyone can just ignore him, which renders *his* immature nonsense impotent, just like Melzzzzz ;)

Melzzzzz asked to be rated according to provable trolling measurements, which Klaus Schadenfreude accommodated.

I reported him years ago. As expected, it did not a thing to slow the bozo. Melzzzzz has yet to show how LibreOffice does anything above the minimum on Linux. After Klaus Schadenfreude's update I no longer can get work done on Linux. Like anyone can!

It's not "nearly identical" to my claim, you bald-faced liar. My
claim was reasonable and correct.

OTOH, we have *not* claimed that "if something is desired then OSS
will be made to fit the need".

The "Snit" thing *lied* so that it could ridicule us, as incorrect,
unreasonable, or inconsistent.

Duh, that's the fscking point, you dumb fsck!

Sheesh!

Wasn't it just last week that I spanked Dumfsck's sorry ass because he
thought that claiming that "dullards stick with Windows or Mac" is the

Just give it up already. You're again trying to pretend you are something you are not. You're the dull knife in the drawer and your many incoherent tasks show this. Where did you learn to program?

Of course I noted examples of Flooder Steve Carroll showing off insecurity, falsely attributing someone else's words to me, etc. His response: to blame me. Over and over, the refrain is Flooder Steve Carroll wants to "talk tech", but Flooder Steve Carroll spends most of his time whining about "trolling". Do you believe the nonsense Flooder Steve Carroll is pushing?

Any dreadfully wounded insomniac could easily do the same. I think we have two different views for a good reason. It was DFS who was publicly asking how better to camouflage his trolling. You've proven very little.

DFS pretends that he uses macOS, while of course he never recorded it on the fly and really tested it. Everyone is DFS -- the oldest gag in the book.

I used to think that was true of FOSS people, but it's simpler than
wanting credibility, reputation or money; they just like to create code.

<quote>
Abstract:
In this paper we report on the results of a study of the effort and
motivations of individuals to contributing to the creation of Free/Open
Source software. We used a Web -based survey, administered to 684
software developers in 287 F/OSS projects, to learn what lies behind the
effort put into such projects. Academic theorizing on individual
motivations for participating in F/OSS projects has posited that
external motivational factors in the form of extrinsic benefits
(e.g.; better jobs, career advancement) are the main drivers of effort.
We find in contrast, that enjoyment-based intrinsic motivation, namely
how creative a person feels when working on the project, is the
strongest and most pervasive driver. We also find that user need,
intellectual stimulation derived from writing code, and improving
programming skills are top motivators for project participation. A
majority of our respondents are skilled and experienced professionals
working in IT-related jobs, with approximately 40 percent being paid to
participate in the F/OSS project.

Aww, look at the dumb fsck acting "nicely", after making a fscking
asshole of himself.

Of course, Dumfsck is the same prick who has claimed that "the
Linux/OSS 'community' deserves absolutely no respect."

User satisfaction with my work has always been my biggest motivator.

And I had a huge spooge last year when my C pivot engine worked. It
demystified for me how to import from .csv format and analyze data in C,
and how to create multidimensional data summaries.

I remember we were fiddling with pivots. Did you take it further?
You should tinker with one of the GUI toolkits and design your own
forms, etc.

Why did you spew such an insult other than to try to push an argument?

  Snit:
    -----
I would love to see the group become that! I would love to see
people, for example, pick tasks they do with Desktop Linux which
they believe are handled better than the competition. I have
encouraged that for a long time. But so far few if any such tasks
    have been shown.
    -----

  Marek Novotny:
    -----
    Linux is a Server, A Cloud, A service, A mobile Platform, A
developers dream come true, A super cluster, a Main frame and a
    DESKTOP. It's not JUST a desktop. You're a two-bit bullshit coward
who refuses to face what Linux actually is. It's too much for you,
    obviously.
    -----

Snit (referencing to the above quote):
    ----
But it is not all of those things. Not even close. It is USED by
those things but it is NOT those things.
    -----

  Marek Novotny (some time later):
    -----
Android isn't Linux. Android makes "use" of the Linux kernel.
Android is indeed open source, but it is not community driven open
source. Those that know the difference likely won't cry over Android
ditching the Linux kernel and adopting their own kernel. It simply
never mattered for all the reasons I stated above. Now the fact that
I have to articulate this in writing so these clueless tards like
DFS and Snit can gain some insights because they LACK their
own insights is what I find troubling. They both have no business
arguing in here. They are simply too stupid to have a conversation
about that which they just don't fundamentally understand in the
    first place.
    -----

Notice Marek uses the concepts I taught him (about how Linux is "USED" by the things he listed) then fantasizes about how I did not know the information HE got wrong and I corrected him with (and did so with no name calling or insults).

  Klaus Schadenfreude:
    -----
    I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I and if that wasn't enough, I,I,I,I,I,I.
    Talk about a narcissistic fool.
    -----

  Snit:
    -----
You left out his I, I, I, I. AM. BETTER. THAN. Snit AND DFS!
He is clearly feeling very insecure these days.
    -----

  Marek Novotny:
    -----
Well, if he wants to play this game with me he'll find pictures of
his wife on imgur with dildos all over her and I can cross post
those too. Keep fucking around Snit. I can play this game too.

"You'll notice how quickly he loses interest when everything is about him. He clearly wants the attention"
Steven Petruzzellis, making the dumbest comment ever uttered.
