Only a stupefied asshole would ever view video material, such as Youtube, within a browser. The intelligent viewer would always use yt-dlp: <https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp> But Google is always changing its protocol. Running yt-dlp now will give "403 forbidden" errors. The community, however, has already conquered the mighty Google: <https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues/17456> The issue is now fixed in the latest git master. FOSS works! And it works FAST!

Have you considered using the picture-in-picture function, with YouTube-type video content in a browser? That way, you can keep working, with the streaming content displaying wherever you have space for it. -- Joel W. Crump Zyprexa - It's not just for schizophrenics, anymore!

YT in polish lang. ver. is pure junk, and none new content was display when I enter main site (it was due to profiling me as "old and boring and dementia grandpa"). So I drop this crap. And now I watch only two kind of movies: 1. Old music video clips (in government, terrestrial Stars TV); 2. Nice chicks from cyberspace in porn movies (WWW site). This is hard to find because the same profiling as in YT suggest me watch disgusting grany instead. Those morons thinks that I am "old and boring and dementia grandpa" and I should prefer grany instead young chicks (this should be called "geriatriopedia" - serious perversion - like necrophilia). BTW: I drop Google from my desktop PC and switch to Brave for 3$/mo. It is "dirty cheap" and cost just 2 new Fanta Cherry 0,5l. bottles (I buy one today). But Brave Search Pro involve Brave Browser. -- Z totaliztycznym salutem! Jacek Marcin Jaworski, Pruszcz Gd., woj. All that you need to do, mostly, is to clear regularly your cookies and off-line cache. But YT is another example of the inevitable centralization of the web. There should be dozens, if not hundreds, of video sharing sites yet everyone wants to post their stuff to YT only. This practice is so prevalent that YT has become the de facto video sharing site, and such a monopoly only leads in time to degeneracy. Most people, it would seem, cannot tolerate diversity and choice. My fave YT channels: <https://www.youtube.com/@TheActionLab> <https://www.youtube.com/@SteveMould> <https://www.youtube.com/@PhysicsExplainedVideos> <https://www.youtube.com/@PracticalEngineeringChannel> <https://www.youtube.com/@AlphaPhoenixChannel> <https://www.youtube.com/@ccrx6700> <https://www.youtube.com/@RRTrainVideos> ... and many others. Viewing this stuff without yt-dlp would be UNBEARABLE.

It is needed if I want watch YT, and avoid "secret debt". Description of secret debt is in my "17. But beside this, YT is well known censor (for e.g. rectal deletion of all "videos with yellow texts"). Beside this, when I search in the past polish movies on YT about C++ or Linux, then I found only movies for newbie. Zero contemporary content, nor any senior content. It is obvious junk for school boys. So.: Far better is make own projects and teach your self how to do it better next time (eg. in next mayor release). In this parasite civilization it is the only real path to get mastering, skills, and wisdom. So watching stupid, and malicious, and censored YT is completely pointless. Today I ask Brave Search: "movie servers without censorship", and its AI generates (bellow complete quotation): > Accessing movies without censorship typically involves using unverified streaming platforms or local media servers, as major legal services like Netflix and Hulu adhere to regional ratings and content guidelines. > > Unverified Streaming Sites Many users seek out platforms that do not apply local censorship cuts. Popular options frequently cited include FMovies, 123Movies, SolarMovie, and GoMovies. These sites often operate under multiple mirror domains to avoid takedowns and may offer content in its original, uncensored form. However, they are generally considered illegal in many jurisdictions, carry risks of malware or intrusive ads, and are often blocked in countries like the US, UK, and Australia. Using a VPN is commonly recommended to bypass geo-blocks and protect privacy on these sites. > > Local Media Servers For a legal, uncensored approach, users can host their own library using Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby. These media server applications allow you to stream your own downloaded files (e.g., from Blu-ray rips or torrents) without any platform-imposed censorship. This method requires you to source the content independently and manage your own storage, but it ensures safe and legal viewing of uncensored material that you own. > > Legal Alternatives with Less Censorship Some legal platforms offer content with minimal censorship or specific "uncut" versions. Kanopy and The Internet Archive provide access to classic and independent films that may not adhere to mainstream ratings. Additionally, YouTube hosts some official studio uploads of full-length films that may not be edited for broadcast standards. > > Odpowiedź wygenerowana przez AI. Prosimy zweryfikuj najważniejsze fakty. So, if I understand correctly, free and uncensored and decentralized movie servers are illegal/banned in USA/USONA, UK, Australia and probably in many other countries. And apparently they fight every day for survive (like some wild animal in jungle or in Tajga). So if you are really smart Linux hacker, then please don't advertise such piece of crap like YT. This is exactly the same hype, like Micro$lop junk advertising. -- Z totaliztycznym salutem! Jacek Marcin Jaworski, Pruszcz Gd., woj. I never pay for my digital stuff because it yearns to be free. yt-dlp allows a download of just the audio content. The "static images" and "blank screen" are the video content. yt-dlp is a great utility. > > That is! Google figth against free speech and accept > massive piracy. Google purchased YT and began to monetize all of the free content which they received. Furthermore, since it is possible for creators to make lots of money via YT clicks, the vast majority of YT content is just worthless click bait. There remains good content on YT but it is only a small minority of the total content. I say "Fuck You!" to Google and I don't care if the piracy slips by their defenses.

They also have no idea which software to use to even get onto Usenet nowadays since they're so used to just doing everything within a browser. That has been clear from the very beginning. If you had any influence with the general public, they'd believe that you need to be some savant to get it running. You are the absolute worst advocate for Linux since Peter the Klöwn. > GNU/Linux is for technically oriented and highly competent people. Then why are you using it? > Of course, that excludes YOU which is why you are so inimical to > GNU/Linux. Absolutely. The thing Linux definitely doesn't need is for someone to objectively point out its drawbacks in the hope that they might be fixed. It's best to just ignore the problems or find ways around them. It's the Ford approach. > FYI, no one cares about the opinions of a deluded fool. And yet you keep posting and even doing everything in your power to slip out of everyone's filter. > We thank you for your participation but we encourage you get the > fuck out and stay the fuck out. Oh no! The lack of moderation that allows a genuine retard like you to post here also ensures that I can post as much as I want without anyone being able to do anything about it except for putting me in their filter. How inconvenient for you, comrade. >> Most people are unaware that they can get access to Usenet for free with >> select servers. We formed a Linux User Group in 2014 that died off. I was surprised last year when I got an email after someone trying to establish a LUG had found the group and stirred the pot. The group still exists although it has moved to Element/Matrix.

I don't do FB but my son, the Machead, tells me that Linux groups are popping up all over the place and that people are moving off Windows to Linux for various reasons. -- pothead "The goal of socialism is Communism" -- Vladimir Lenin "Communism may be summed up in a single sentence: 'Abolition of private property" -- Karl Marx "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money" -- Margaret Thatcher

I've never done FB but many of the subreddits like r/linux are filled with people asking for a distro recommendation or help installing Linux. It's been on hold for the summer but I'm in a project at the library aimed at helping people transition from Windows. For uniformity Linux Mint was selected as friendly and Cinnamon is somewhat similar to Windows. A side project is an attempt to salvage old Windows computers, install Linux, and give them to the non-profits in town.

It is quite possible that Linux use is increasing, and I frankly don't blame Windows users for wanting to get out with all of the AI garbage Microsoft is pushing, but I doubt that the numbers are significant. I will overjoyed to find out that I'm wrong in five years time though. -- CrudeSausage M4 MacBook Air Matthew 7:15 John 14:6

Try private-browsing mode, and see how YouTube behaves when it has to abandon all its preconceptions about you.
