now will give "403 forbidden" errors.

The community, however, has already conquered the mighty Google:

Have you considered using the picture-in-picture function, with 
YouTube-type video content in a browser?  That way, you can keep 
working, with the streaming content displaying wherever you have space 
for it.

YT in polish lang. ver. is pure junk, and none new content was display 
when I enter main site (it was due to profiling me as "old and boring 
and dementia grandpa"). So I drop this crap. And now I watch only two 
kind of movies:
1. Old music video clips (in government, terrestrial Stars TV);
2. Nice chicks from cyberspace in porn movies (WWW site). This is hard 
to find because the same profiling as in YT suggest me watch disgusting 
grany instead. Those morons thinks that I am "old and boring and 
dementia grandpa" and I should prefer grany instead young chicks (this 
should be called "geriatriopedia" - serious perversion - like necrophilia).

BTW: I drop Google from my desktop PC and switch to Brave for 3$/mo. It 
is "dirty cheap" and cost just 2 new Fanta Cherry 0,5l. bottles (I buy 
one today). But Brave Search Pro involve Brave Browser.

How do you allow yourself to be profiled?  All that you need to do,
mostly, is to clear regularly your cookies and off-line cache.

But YT is another example of the inevitable centralization of the web.
There should be dozens, if not hundreds, of video sharing sites yet
everyone wants to post their stuff to YT only.  This practice is so
prevalent that YT has become the de facto video sharing site, and such
a monopoly only leads in time to degeneracy.

Most people, it would seem, cannot tolerate diversity and choice.

Cookies probably are needed when I want to use YT subscription. It is 
needed if I want watch YT, and avoid "secret debt". Description of 
secret debt is in my "17. Totaliztic Report - Patrons versus Banksters"

you need to use some translator in order to read it).

My third accuse against YT is that Google publish massively piracy 
music. Instead publish "study videoclip copy" they accept ripped CDs 
with some dumb static images, or just with blank screen sometimes with 
some stupid text. That is! Google figth against free speech and accept 
massive piracy. So YT is dumping and piracy censored movie server, with 
"low/massive culture content" (read: for brainless fanboyz).

I never pay for my digital stuff because it yearns to be free.

yt-dlp allows a download of just the audio content.  The "static
images" and "blank screen" are the video content.

yt-dlp is a great utility.

YT was/is supposed to be a SHARING site.  Google purchased YT and
began to monetize all of the free content which they received.

Furthermore, since it is possible for creators to make lots of money
via YT clicks, the vast majority of YT content is just worthless click
bait.

There remains good content on YT but it is only a small minority
of the total content.

I say "Fuck You!" to Google and I don't care if the piracy slips
by their defenses.

That is true.  The majority of YT instructional videos are just
shallow "talking books" made for functional illiterates.

But there is a small minority of documentaries that exploit
the video medium quite well and this small minority makes YT
very worthwhile.

that very few creators will post on Usenet because it is perceived

Most people are unaware that they can get access to Usenet for free with 
select servers. They also have no idea which software to use to even get 
onto Usenet nowadays since they're so used to just doing everything 
within a browser. The death of Google Groups must have been incredibly

Linux User Group in 2014 that died off. I was surprised last year when I 
got an email after someone trying to establish a LUG had found the group 
and stirred the pot. 

The group still exists although it has moved to Element/Matrix.

I don't do FB but my son, the Machead, tells me that Linux
groups are popping up all over the place and that people are
moving off Windows to Linux for various reasons.

I've never done FB but many of the subreddits like r/linux are filled with 
people asking for a distro recommendation or help installing Linux.

It's been on hold for the summer but I'm in a project at the library aimed 
at helping people transition from Windows. For uniformity Linux Mint was 
selected as friendly and Cinnamon is somewhat similar to Windows. 

A side project is an attempt to salvage old Windows computers, install 
Linux, and give them to the non-profits in town.

It is quite possible that Linux use is increasing, and I frankly don't 
blame Windows users for wanting to get out with all of the AI garbage 
Microsoft is pushing, but I doubt that the numbers are significant. I 
will overjoyed to find out that I'm wrong in five years time though.

I assume that’s all controlled by the cookies it left on your browser
from previous visits.

Try private-browsing mode, and see how YouTube behaves when it has to
abandon all its preconceptions about you.
