Apparently, even mentioning Linux can get people banned on FB.
(Reports are mixed.)

Seriously though -- it seem like this is most likely a
problem with their AI moderation.  Meta is a member of
the Linux Foundation, and uses Linux extensively.

This isn't just an "own goal", it's as if they hauled-off
and gave themselves a black eye.

I first used it in 1996 or so, back then it was very standard-issue
Internet, like IRC, there wasn't X and Bluesky, Facebook and TikTok,
that it wasn't called "social media" doesn't make it not a predecessor
thereof.

no longer simply an echo chamber, where anyone who disagrees with them is

It's actually funny to me the way that they are migrating to BlueSky 
because they've done it before with Mastodon and Threads and both of 
them failed. They ignore that without people disagreeing with you, there 
is no need for conversation. Preaching to the choir is boring, that's 
why X was always the place to go: because there are always lots of 
people going there strictly to disagree with you for the sake of 
conversation.

Except in the old Twitter if someone made a good point to counter the Woke 
crap, they would be more than likely be canceled or "de-platformed" or 
whatever the term is. Now that the Woke cultists can't automatically have 
the last word on TwitterX, their miffed. So now they're going to BlueSky 
which they hope will become a new "old" Twitter. Unfortunately for them, it 
will become a completely boring echo chamber with about 100% preaching to 
the choir (as you say). So yes, it's probably destined to nosedive into 
oblivion, kind of like CNN and MSNBC.
