https://www.theregister.com/2025/01/28/facebook_blocks_distrowatch/ Apparently, even mentioning Linux can get people banned on FB. (Reports are mixed.) (I guess we need to remove the Facebook ethernet driver from the Linux kernel? Lol.) Seriously though -- it seem like this is most likely a problem with their AI moderation. Meta is a member of the Linux Foundation, and uses Linux extensively. This isn't just an "own goal", it's as if they hauled-off and gave themselves a black eye. -- -v System76 Thelio Mega v1.1 x86_64 NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti OS: Linux 6.13.0 Release: Mint 21.3 Mem: 258G "Some things have got to be believed to be seen."

So they have finally admitted it was all a mistake (as if there was any doubt) <https://www.tomshardware.com/software/linux/facebook-admits-that-the-linux-topic-crackdown-was-in-error-and-has-been-fixed>. So why did it happen? Seems the shift from proper fact-checking of postings to relying on âcommunity-drivenâ feedback was a factor. So-called âfreedom of speech absolutismâ (as defined by the anti-woke mob) leads to censorship of ideas that actually promote a free society -- who knew?

Oh, piss off, both of you.
("Tone dead"? Maybe he means "tone deaf". Nice English there,
Mr. "English Professor")
And "the winds of change sweeping society" is hard to reconcile with
Bottom Sludge winning 1.5% over his opponent. That is not
a "MAGA mandate", as much as Mango Mussolini lies about that.
Why you continue to talk to this avowed bigot, Ron, escapes me.
(Most of the time I see that MAGA clown is quoted by you...I might have
to adjust my reading habits some more.)

Speaking of a Woke Culture drone, the misnamed "vallor" shows up right on
cue. No, vallor, I'm not a MAGA drone. I guess you assume everyone is a
partisan cultist because you project your own brain-rot, knee-jerk,
cancel-cult behavior on everyone else.

Before long, the only person vallor will talk to here is Chris Ahlstrom.
Yokoscotty seems to enjoy living in an echo chamber.

That's all they can handle and why they're leaving TwitterX in droves. It's
no longer simply an echo chamber, where anyone who disagrees with them is
"canceled." They can't stand someone believing something other than what
their brain-dead Woke cult "teaches" (or rather brainwashes them into
believing). No logic is involved. It's all predicated on emotion.

It's actually funny to me the way that they are migrating to BlueSky
because they've done it before with Mastodon and Threads and both of
them failed. They ignore that without people disagreeing with you, there
is no need for conversation. Preaching to the choir is boring, that's
why X was always the place to go: because there are always lots of
people going there strictly to disagree with you for the sake of
conversation.

Except in the old Twitter if someone made a good point to counter the Woke
crap, they would be more than likely be canceled or "de-platformed" or
whatever the term is. Now that the Woke cultists can't automatically have
the last word on TwitterX, their miffed. So now they're going to BlueSky
which they hope will become a new "old" Twitter. Unfortunately for them, it
will become a completely boring echo chamber with about 100% preaching to
the choir (as you say). So yes, it's probably destined to nosedive into
oblivion, kind of like CNN and MSNBC.
