They're not a Linux creation, turd.

Linux perfected and popularlized the concept though.

Of course.
It's almost a necessity for Linux.
How else are you going to try out 500+ different distributions.

As they say, lack of necessity is the mother of useless invention.

So Linux gets the credit there - and Apple gets the credit for the GUI. I
can go with that.

Since they're just extremely derivative of an earlier invention, Linux
deserves no credit whatsoever for anything related to LiveCDs (if you
subscribe to the idiotic babbling of Hypocrite Homer).

And Ubuntu perfected and popularized the concept of a crappy distro
release every 6 months.

And don't forget Windows popularized the concept of a GUI operating
system.

And I popularized the concept of a Linux "advocate".

...by whom exactly?

All of you idiots are whining about how the Linux community didn't invent
this but you aren't actually giving any indication that you know who actually
did.

A challenge!

My earliest use of "advocate" is Oct 8, 2004, in the thread "[OT] MS
Word is a steaming pile of crap"

Can you beat that?

Hmm. Damn you. No I dont think I can. But I am sure I was the more
consistent propagator of "advocate" and have frequently pointed out the
difference betwee the word advocate and "advocate". Brr. "advocates"
really are a nasty little bunch of know nothing weenies...

Regardless, the word has a meaning. Unsavoury though it might be.

They appear to be in disarray at the moment. Homer's savaging of that
big headed wind bag Keith Curtis is quite something.

I wonder who did then? What OS was also around then that even allowed
for that sort of thing. Most other things even if they were flexible enough
and leading edge enough (like perhaps MacOS) were licensed in a manner such
that having 3rd parties put these things together would be a legal issue.

What? Were pirate groups doing this kind of thing with Windows?

They certainly weren't a Microsoft one.

Microsoft dragged their feet just getting Windows onto CDs.

Nevermind booting the OS from it.

I liked this reply to Flatfarce in another group where he was trolling:

"Sorry you are so technically challenged that you couldn't get any distro
to work to your liking.
I'll enjoy my Linux now.You can go in the kill file."
WLS

The trolls like Flatfish, DFS, & Hadron etc really like to show how
incompetent they are when it comes to Linux.

Hahahah!

Classic Linux elitist "blame the user".

With Linux, it's always someone else's fault never the fault of Linux.

We are certainly competent when it comes to Linux and looking at the
losers over in that other group, we were Linux before some of them made
it past grade school.

The truth is desktop Linux is crap ware and Ubuntu 11.04 takes it to an
entirely new level of crap ware.

You can pretend to ignore us all you want but you can't ignore the bug
reports that are streaming into the forums by irate users.

You can't ignore the hostile attitude on the irc channels because people
have hosed their systems with the latest Ubuntu 11.04 crap.

You just can't.

Burying your head in the sand doesn't change that fact nor does it
change the fact that after 20 years of being free, desktop Linux is
still hovering around the 1 percent mark.

That says it all about the "quality" of Linux as seen by the average
user.

We could say the same about anything else any of you Lemmings have
ever said about anything.

That's just the Lemming mentality. Someone, somewhere out there in the
world managed to have a problem with something on Linux therefore it is
not possible for anyone anywhere to have a trouble free experience with
Linux.

   Great Lemming logic there.

What has sMarti offered as proof?

Nothing.....

Of course all that Ubuntu forum raging over the incompetent hobbyware is
lies. We all know Linux just works.
