Take me off your list.
I have always supported Linux for this kind of stuff.

And NASA is migrating all their ISS laptops away from Windoze crap to
GNU/Linux. Not bad for "hobbyware" huh.

Well, NASA is also denying man-made global climate change, so what do they
know. :)

"I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and
professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones."

I emailed the developer of HardInfo to ask why he hasn't released 1.0.
He answered that, but he refused to answer when I told him it listed
some devices twice. He ran away and hid from a bug report.

xfce has 2 and 3 year old bugs (about Thunar) still classified as NEW.

The entire distro maintenance/development team of PCLinuxOS (remember
them?) just upped and quit over a period of days.

Examples of members of the suckless.org "community": 20h, Anydot,
Gottox, Pancake, Sin.

I'd estimate 95% of all kernel + GNU + enduser code was written for free
by hobbyists.

Doesn't mean it won't work for non-hobbyists. It just means support and
bug fixes - if you can get them - might come from an anonymous nym in
Latvia.

So yeah, hobbyware. Through and through.

Yeah, I believe it. But the thing is the MS OS 8.1 seems stale to me and
certainly no better in the stability department than the distros. Sure its got more software and games.
And the MS OS is used to force one to upgrade Office version.
I guess there is way to force it but I wasn't motivated enough to find it.
My edition of Office 97 has gotten so old it now runs again on Windows without
special knowledge, LOL.

so hobbyware compared to bloatware and greedware..............Trig

You are both idiots.

Anyway:

   http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2013/09/google-and-samsung-soar-into-list-of-top-10-linux-contributors/

Some hobbyware.

It's a bit like claiming lightbulbs are "hobbyware" because Thomas Edison
had to start out by tinkering with materials and build methods for
lightbulbs.

You blame the boogieman for the failure of desktop Linux. Repeatedly.

It's 100% horseshit, like so much of the drool that comes out of you
Linux liars.

Yep. It definitely won't run on my hardware -- where my constantly updated
and SECURE Linux Mint 13 Mate runs without issue. And none of the hobbyware
Redmond Malware Magnet OS issues at all for me. Life is good. OS choice is
good. Windows is crap.

You truly are one foul person chrisv.
