Its already been discussed that one of the motivations to tolerate the presence of illegals is because they're cheap labor which is a "good for business" in certain US industries, such as agriculture. Any time we note a "good for business" there's externalities where even when the net outcome is a positive, the discrete outcomes where some are going to be better off & others worse off. -hh

To that end, the companies who conspire these frauds should have the perpetrators thrown in jail and the corporation held fully liable, with zero bankruptcy or liability protections. FWIW, this also applies to things beyond merely immigration. For example, the ID theft at Wells-Fargo should have not only had the CEO, Board & Senior VPs thrown in jail & fined heavily, plus the Corporation should have also been liable for the damages it did, plus punitive damages ... figure at least a $1M fine for each of the 2M fraudulent accounts they opened, due within 90 days (no delays from appeals). If that takes down the entire corporation, tough: perhaps that will be sufficient warning to others not to break the law as outrageously as they did. -hh
