Windows Insiders are essentially people who confirm that Windows is
hobbyware by their very decision that "reinstalling is no big deal." I
don't understand how going through what seems to be an 8-hour
installation process is no big deal.

Nah, I totally understand. Windows gives up error codes but most of the
time, they're worthless. That's not to suggest that Linux is better with
its error codes but at least, as you suggest, it doesn't have the error
in the first place which is the better alternative in my opinion. The
way I see it, no operating system is perfect but Linux does the best job
of getting there. Windows is acceptable though but the fact that it has
such great third-party software and the best 3D performance will get
people who otherwise hate it to come back.

You rarely if ever have to re-install Windows.

As I've mentioned in the past, basically the only time I'm involved with
Windows is when something goes wrong on one of my wife's computers. So,
yeah, my opinion of Windows is probably a bit skewed ... probably a bit more
than a bit skewed. I DO know that I can't stand the way no fix is
straightforward.

Hell, just recently Meat was declaring himself the only "true Linux advocate", and claiming that "advocates" (in mockery-quotes just to annoy people) are focusing on Windows more than on Linux.

I suspect Meat does not even know what is wrong with Slrn. Open source is only less expensive if your time has no value. He disturbs multiple groups of people who are just bystanders, but that's a self-centered troll for you. What you and I care about isn't a factor.

So what makes you think you are qualified to troubleshoot it?

So DON'T. And DON'T break it. And DON'T lie about the problems you claim
you run into being common.

Non-problem solved.

He's not.
And he knows it which is why he ran away and remains in hiding behind his
kill file.

That's the entire point.

If you read his various tales of woe, and there are several because this
joker RonB has never ending problems with Windows, you quickly realize that
his methods of identifying, attacking and solving the problem are amateur
at best and dangerous at worst. I would trust this neophyte to create a
folder because he would probably mess it up somehow. I'll bet when it comes
to repairing the family PCs he is the laughing stock of the family.
One has to wonder with all of the problems his family seems to have with
Windows, why they aren't using Linux like he is?

Not long ago I did work on and showed some Perl for the front end which is the only thing you can do when trying to avoid Larry Washington's kiddie crap while reading with Google Groups. Trinity is probably my second favorite DE and the only one I suggest to Mac converts. Primary interface is Plasma, though. Copy on select is all you need after you get used to it. Almost all people in this group do customizations either as a leisure activity or as a vocation, so I am skeptical anyone here thinks of automation to be "impossible".

Are you being like Larry Washington on purpose?

I noted examples of Larry Washington stating quotable lies -- attacking Sandman, etc. His response: to double down on your lies. Obviously, the top thought that matters to Larry Washington is arguing he is "better", and if he can't have that he will do more research to successfully kick Sandman down... ignoring him is the only option. Ha! C'mon, hombre... even you have blocked that fool. Given what he is nobody should condemn anyone for wanting to be rid of his stupid brand of farce.

He repeatedly talks about files and folders being challenging to work
with... and NOT in the context of new or non-techie users.

He is extremely bitter -- which explains why he calls others that.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They
cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

Just look at your posts and look at mine, there is nothing for Jonas Eklundh to learn from a mindless moron like Steven Carroll. But so be it, let him keep making an ignoramus of himself.

Unlike the intelligent people in COLA, Steven Carroll relies on false news to concoct his convictions on the news. That being the case, he only is familiar with and listens to the approved stories which also happens to be the ones which portray humanism in a acutely positive and principled slant.

Thanks to Steven Carroll and his 'buddies' you now need a whitelist. Dig through the archives, for the most part I cold turkey stopped giving him what he's asked for. If people start trolling him again I will jump in... as if for not other reason than to get revenge. I'm referring to advocates here, not trolls, who have been responding to him all along. Promotion is a wonderful thing and consumer ignorance is even better. This forum is a cesspool.

What Tmux looks like matters little and is no big deal, especially if it's better than the competition.

Can you stop pleading for my attention?

Just look at your videos and look at mine, there is nothing for us to learn from an idiot like Onion 'The Moron' Knight. But whatever, let him keep making an ignoramus of himself. Onion 'The Moron' Knight is being controlled by the MSM.

He'd have to be suffering from Alzheimers to be unsure of if he "once had" purchased Tmux with Steven Carroll. Gee, who could it be? When Onion 'The Moron' Knight can't be consistent with his story and makes use of fictional, self-esteem protecting crap later, it's rather undeniable what his trick is. The one talent Onion 'The Moron' Knight learned sufficiently is to attempt to guilt Steven Carroll into silence and if that fails to work, troll-splain or completely change the argument.

I'd reply to Onion 'The Moron' Knight honestly but he is a cretin who twists what you say to fulfill his lust to call everyone a jerk.

I have a little script I use as well, but it's a bit different.

Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude can't get anything else to work, either. Given how frequently it seems that Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude's post is some distortion of a remark Troll Killer Snit wrote which had been a drubbing on Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude for something he did which was absurd/untrue/etc... its truly a daily expression of Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude's constant embarrassment for having been so frequently humiliated: Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude is demonstrably unable of taking heat. You likely think Ubuntu handles the desktop well. Nope. Not compared to the competition. Now Troll Killer Snit on the other end of the game doesn't matter. All that matters is Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude gets to deliver the punchline. So how to beat Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude at his own game? Don't do anything but ignore the nonsense. Honest discussion isn't part of trick and never has been.

From how Klaus 'The Moron' Schadenfreude asked - by showing ignorance of basics of the language and the like - he has not once worked on a resource demanding problem. If he had he'd have understood the requirements of declaring variables!

So why the added requirement to debug JavaScript via direct input in an embedded system? As always, he didn't state this as part of his, predictably, continually changing 'standard' <whatever>.

What is your evidence?

William Poaster is an imbecile -- people have auto-read his socks. What he really wants is a script that keeps switching names, then flood posts have a possibility at being almost as annoying as he is.

I can not tolerate that. Bewilderment is bewilderment and there are "advocates" who are fine with it. Some are even programmers.Anyway, it doesn't matter because the name on a post means nothing, it's the content that counts. I've worked in or with the IT producers field for nearly 40 years. I have served large corporations working with NASA and the finance sector. Never, not one single time, was I directed not to install any OS the customer wanted. We sold Xenix, Lisa, MINIX, etc. with MS OSs very successfully. You've proven that it is William Poaster. Who are you even speaking to? A persistent, acute, posting itch, regardless of content - basically slimy rodent prostitutes, and vigorously-greased ram, immobilized with chains for his own personal requirements. Another successful "thumb drive install" test. That is if you count making a bunch of dangerous choices nobody understands as a success.

Only what Peter Köhlmann wants matters to Peter Köhlmann. There is nothing Klaus Schadenfreude can do to change that. It's a personality defect and it is what it is.

In spite of my strong experiences with Fedora, I still continue to load it for users who have had difficulties with Windows 7. Time to blame anything but Linux! Just moronic trolling. And I am responding to that trolling. THAT is what the "Peter Köhlmann circus" is.

My advice to you is to find another hobby and have your family locate
someone who is competent at managing computers because looking at your
posting history you do seem to have an inordinate amount of problems with
Windows computers.
Interesting that you never seem to post about Linux update headaches and
please don't insult people who know more about Linux than you do by
claiming Linux updates just work because we all know that's not any more
truthful than your Windows update claims.
They both have problems at times.

Next time post some screen shots to imgur or another site because you
either have the worst luck on the planet or you are concocting fairy tales.

I do not follow that. Insensitivity is insensitivity and there are many who are in agreement with it. A few are even doctors. This forum is a leaking porta potty. And in retaliation you have nothing but a crack to start a circus.

Did he think that was clever?

You are safe as a Zsh shell user can be. Some time ago I did work on and showed some Ruby for the front end (only works on Linux) which is the only thing you can do when trying to avoid Steve Petruzzellis's kiddie crap while reading with Google Groups.

Steve Petruzzellis has yet to show how Zsh shell does anything above the minimum on Linux.

Either that or convince them to quit using the Hobbyware Malware Magnet
Swiss Cheese Crapware OS from Microshit. Actually I would be MORE than happy
to let someone else work on their Winshit installs. But, unlike the vast
majority of Winshit owners who have had this problem, I WAS able to get the
machine back up and running without having to reinstall. So I was able to
avoid the normal Winshit "Reboot, reboot, reinstall" "fix."

Well, what's really "interesting" is that this installation of Linux Mint
17.1 was installed on this computer in 2014 and I have NEVER had to fix
that. That might be a hint as to why I hate Windows and love Linux. I don't
cringe every time Linux updates. Can't say the same for Winshit.

> Next time post some screen shots to imgur or another site because you

I'm not lying, but I did take screenshots of the Recovery screen so, in case
it wouldn't get to that point when I rebooted I would at least know what
error it WAS giving. ...

Here's what it read ...

~~
Recovery (yeah, right)

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired (because we f***ed up the "update" again)

A requested device is not connected and can't be accessed (though it was
fine before the "update").

Error code: 0xc000000f (we like to offer useless information)

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media
(i.e. a disk or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device
manufacturer. (And they'll tell you to reinstall after a couple reboots.)
~~

I was able to find the error code (lots of people get it after an update)
and multiple "maybe" "fixes" (none of which worked) — found the same problem
on Microshit's "support" boards (where the consensus was to reinstall).
Ended up just lucking into the fix. (Typical of Microcrap hobbyware shit.)

When I hit F8 I was given a list of options for fixing the "OS" (other than
the real fix, installing Linux over the crap and never looking back) so I
chose Enable debugging. It gave me (I'm going by memory) an error Code of
0xc0000098 which had something to do with the HAL.DLL in the
Windows\System32\ subdirectory. Looking at that error I saw this meant that
the HAL.DLL was "missing" but, using the recovery USB, I was able to confirm
that it wasn't missing. It was probably incompatible with something on my
computer and Microcrap Winshit was too "stupid" to figure that out before
bricking the computer. Of course, on the Winshit support forum the consensus
seemed to be "reinstall" and "hope you had your stuff backed up."

Fortunately I knew that there was nothing wrong with the HD and that the
files were still intact because I used my Linux Mint USB to check out the
files. So worst case, I would have to back up the files and reinstall
Winshit (not that I haven't done that before ... and before ... and before
... and before).

But, yeah, if someone wants to fix my wife's computers, gratis, when Wincrap
takes yet another dump after yet another failed update, they're more than
welcome to do so. Hopefully BEFORE I throw the poor, Wincrap infested
computers out the window.

This is what you need to do:

"Honey, here's $200 to get your computer fixed. You need me to help
you get to the car?" :)

Life is so much better that way. Trust me.

Do it every time. IDKHTFI. Let her absorb the full pain of the doze.

Now let us see knows C, is an avid scripter, has hacked Sandman's account, has motive and is a gigantic tantrum throwingloser who, when he backs himself into a corner, posts endless nonsense even when he's _not_ flooding... AND... who works to attributes everything HE is doing on "anyone he can" and has for his whole life?

He is without doubt lying, he got called out on it and he's doing the normal role-reversal pranks covered in Intro to Trolling classes as he attempts to regain a smattering of honor... but it will fail.

No-one gets it, I barely understand it.

What is your evidence? I thought showing him some kindness might help the situation. It did not.
