I love how Linux "advocates" make it seem like OS X or Windows are evil if you need to use software not made by Apple / Microsoft respectively. But very little of the software you use on Mint is made by the Mint team... very little of the software you use on *any* Linux distro is made by that one team. They shoot themselves in the foot when they push that limitation. Good to see Windows 10 get it by default... but not a big deal for people on older versions of Windows to get a third party driver. Way back in 2011 I even made a video showing people how to do it: <https://youtu.be/KirbI1DuFfo>. At this point you have to be joking. On OS X: Select to print, then select the folder you want (and it need not be a folder in the side bar of your file browser). You can also select other folders or apps to send the PDF to. All in the context of working in the browser or other app. Linux: leave the web browser to go to the file browser and click a menu item that then works with the web browser. And to do this you would want to add and remove items because to keep all the features you have on OS X your menu would have 100 items in it. Seriously, you are not that lost. You can't be. -- * OS X / Linux: What is a file? <http://youtu.be/_dMbXGLW9PI> * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Easy on OS X / Hard on Linux: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>

You're in the web browser. You like the recipe you see. You slide your mouse to the desktop and right click -> Save Recipe as PDF. Done. On OS X it's digging down in a menu tree over and over for every tabbed recipe. TEDIOUS and INEFFICIENT. That's the OS X way! > And to do this you would want to add > and remove items because to keep all the features you have on OS X your menu > would have 100 items in it. So the OS X Print menu has 100 items in it? How retarded.

Linux, Windows, and OS X all work with PDFs in the Print menu... OS X just does more with PDF Services. Yes, it can be confusing for the OSs to do this. Next. >> , then select the folder you want (and it need not >> be a folder in the side bar of your file browser). You can also select other >> folders or apps to send the PDF to. I realize the program is still open... but you are not using the tools in the program. You are using desktop services. > Done. On OS X it's digging down in a menu tree over and over for every tabbed > recipe. TEDIOUS and INEFFICIENT. That's the OS X way! I just made a video... it is uploading but I am heading out. I will point you to it later. It explains context. Apparently this is a concept you are struggling with. The video is rambling and 16 minutes long, but it shows not just one feature in isolation, which you can replicate (sorta) on Linux but how they all work together. No real planning as I made it so it rambles. Whatever. This whole discussion has gotten silly. Maybe it is just because I use an OS where such context is a given that I find it hard to understand how others can find it so challenging to understand? >> And to do this you would want to add >> and remove items because to keep all the features you have on OS X your menu >> would have 100 items in it. > > So the OS X Print menu has 100 items in it? How retarded. See, you just actively work to not understand and misrepresent. Silly. Anyway, I mention this in the video - I think... just recorded it and did not watch it. Will upload when I get back. Then will be gone for a few hours. -- * OS X / Linux: What is a file? <http://youtu.be/_dMbXGLW9PI> * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Easy on OS X / Hard on Linux: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>
