We can pretend we have 'all the data we need' to make good estimates but it's not realistic to assume so for the purpose of proving there isn't "higher crime" along the southern border... an area which is completely unlike any other area in the country. Like I said, there are reasons why certain kinds of statistics aren't used as evidence in a court setting.

Good grief, just recently Jonas 'The Fool' Eklundh was declaring himself the only "true Linux advocate", and claiming that "advocates" (in scare-quotes to try to paint them as the bad guys) are trying to rewrite Pulseaudio from scratch. Despite my own feelings about openSUSE, I continue to install it for those who've had problems with Windows 10. If Klaus Schadenfreude has 'file.pdf' open in a program such as emacs and you want to change its name to 'c.txt' via a GUI menu item, Klaus Schadenfreude's suggestion might be OK, if only to make sure file names are not the same. Ha! Right, Jonas 'The Fool' Eklundh is pushing to retail a programming interface reference, which anyone can get in 5 seconds, that does simple recursion. If he could stop being so screwed up he would figure out how clueless he appears. Jonas 'The Fool' Eklundh has toned down the hundreds of self obsessed, idiotic attacks he used to create but he is certainly unchanged in the morality area. He just uses shills more to generate those circuses. -- Do not click this link! http://www.5z8.info/mydick_x6g9hr_nakedgrandmas.jpg Jonas Eklundh Communication

He is being AMAZINGLY patient with you and trying to help you understand the basics of statistics. Even though you cannot predict any given coin flip you CAN predict that you will, with enough flips, get closer to 50/50 over time (with a fair coin). The chances of NOT get smaller and smaller the more flips you do. It is not that the coin remembers, or whatever, it is that a fair coin will land on each side about 50% of the time. Now you are pretending I did not talk about his analogy and why it is pertinent. It is his very, very patient effort to teach you about some BASIC concepts of stats.
