I just spent a rather frustrating morning trying to
figure out how to get QT applications and GTK
applications to look like they belong together on
Ubuntu 18.04 with the GNOME and Unity desktops...
I’d like to find a new-user friendly way of doing it
but it eludes me. I’ve followed a bunch of
suggestions in forums but none has worked
satisfactorily. I know it is possible because Linux
Mint, Ubuntu MATE and any distribution running the
KDE Plasma desktop come with everything setup to
look right. KDE offers separate controls for QT and
QTK so you can really dial it in while GNOME offers
nothing and Ubuntu didn’t bother to try to address
the issue downstream. Some folks don’t care, of
course, but it’s a real bummer to me. Your thoughts?
	-----

The post is good to see... the comments very telling. While there are
some who do not care / do not see the benefit, there are a lot of Linux
users who are calling for this.

One post today about Linux.

NONE of the "advocates" respond. Interesting.

Probably because people work for a living, rather than camp out and
concern-troll a newsgroup.

My Windows gaming desktop at home is just as inconsistent -- a lot of the
apps do their own thing. Big woop.

They are responding to race related stuff... but not tech.

I am not saying they have to, of course... but it shows how little this
group cares about Linux.

I am happy others in the Linux community understand the issue.

Does your computer have the lint brigade waiting to help out when needed?

Interesting how you and others have NOTHING to say about Linux.

Seems I am the only one in COLA, currently, who has any interest in
discussing it. Fair enough... just funny.

Hey, right now I am clearly the best advocate (the only so it is easy!). :)

You can't run Safari in it... not that you'd want to:

The COLA hard is an "army" in your mind? Not even sure what you are
trying to say... just know you are not speaking of Linux.

Now will you.

COLA "hard"... Freudian slip?

As I don't use Linux the same way you do there's really nothing
to talk about.

Your focus is the GUI, a thing I generally only use when I want
to launch a browser, a code editor or an environment like AMPPS.
Go talk to Godhe, he changes DEs like you change socks ;)

+1 to the first paragraph. Michael Glasser also doesn't realize that
he's filtered by most everyone even when he decides to "talk" about
Linux.

You just proved you saw the comments.

Yet you avoid speaking of Linux still.

Solution for "Snit." Use Macs. Leave the rest of us, who have the use of
our brains, alone.

Non-problem solved.

Mac users tend to be very arrogant. So convinced, they are, of the
superiority of their way of doing things. Too stupid, to not
understand the need for alternatives.

They believe that the fact that they paid more for their product
(ignoring the fact that it is outdated and that the operating system
is slower than all competition) makes it and by extension them better.

The content is a bunch of gibbering Jerry Stuckle-like crap. We know there are only a few people who do that.

Any dreadfully wounded welfare receiver could easily do the same. By being taught by 'teachers' like that you get phrases like 'equality'. Carried to its (il)logical progression, the insistence that it's 'insensitive' for a conservative human to not wish to marry a man who identifies as a woman is pushed. Out-and-out rot by an uninformed, fabricating, Machiavellian, co-trolling moron who would not tell the truth even if he swore on his mother's grave.

What Gnome looks like matters little and then it is not like Gnome, especially if it's hackable. I have known infants who argue better than you do. Jerry Stuckle's toned down the zillions of narcissistic, hogwash attacks he used to post but he is certainly unchanged in the truthfulness area. He simple uses sock puppets more to generate those posts.

Thankfully the person you are referencing is in my KF.

THIS is what I am talking about in terms of COLA being anything but good
advocacy. When you post such attacks you are doing nothing but showing
your own insecurity. There is no value in that.

Thanks, I guess, for proving me correct.
