It does pick up quite a bit, including various undesired noises from the housing system (squeaks & clunks from moving strobe arms, etc). And of course, since its also inside that housing, the UW stuff doesn't have wind noise (whereas topside stuff does - contrast with the Brac stills montage). Overall, my biggest complaint with the 7D for video is that it lacks dynamic real time autofocus - once you set up for a shot, that's it, so you had better hope that the lens & focal length gives you adequate DOF to make the video appear ok. But then again, I wasn't originally buying it for video but for stills ... had I wanted a "video first" system, I probably could have saved a few $K five years ago ... although not anymore today, because the temptation now would be to 'future proof' with a 4K system. > > The exception to the above is IMG_1009, which used a > > compact JVC HD videocam ... Happened to look at the JVC this morning ... its a "Picsio" GC-FM1: < http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?archive=true&pathId=58&modelId=MODL028582> Which went into an Ikelite housing and accompanied with an Ikelite W-20 Wide Angle Conversion Lens at times, both of which can be seen here: <http://www.backscatter.com/sku/ike-5651.11.lasso> IIRC, a bit under $1K all told. Some (all?) of that period's GoPro's lacked any LCD display to see what you're filming, whereas this not-quite-as-little JVC does have a 2" screen on back...makes for a big difference in composing. -hh

My youngest has a GoPro Hero 3 (I think it's a Black?), no LDC but it's amazing how much can be crammed into these little things! In FCP X we can get decently sharp slo-mo segments when he shoots at high frame rates.

There's no need to "imply" anything about badass Tim Cook, and where did I imply that Tim Cook is wearing a *pink* Apple Watch?

This is a pretty sick and twisted subject but I remember a short while back
a bunch of posts about lampshades, soap, etc. Then I saw this on the
DailyMail website less than one month ago:
<quote>
Bar of soap 'made from the fat of Jewish Holocaust victims' is removed from
eBay after Dutch owner put it up for sale
6 March 2015
* The listing sought ?199 for the bar of soap reportedly made from 'fat'
* It was claimed victims of the Westerbork concentration camp in Holland
* The Nazis are believed to have experimented with the soap during the
war
* SS leader Heinrich Himmler is reported to have stopped the experiments

It just kind of goes against the grain.
