You are not showing any understanding that NTFS is the Windows native file
systems. Wow. Not sure where to go from there. Maybe having you read even
the first sentence of the Wikipedia page will help?
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS>
-----
NTFS (New Technology File System[1]) is a proprietary file system
developed by Microsoft.[1] Starting with Windows NT 3.1, it is the
default file system of Windows NT family.[7]
-----
DFS denies my claims that COLA is not a very technical group... but look how
lost you are on this. Just wow.

It has been fully case-sensitive since day one. Right. And MS was smart enough to give the general use a case insensitive environment to work in. What it comes down to is no matter how many times we go over this, no matter how many times you demonstrate with your self-nukes that YOU benefit from such an environment, the concept will continue to go over your head (or you will act as if it does because you are not secure enough to admit when you are wrong). Once this is known - and it is - there really is no point in going on with the conversation. -- * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mavericks / Pages 5.1: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>

If people format their external hard disks to NTFS, it's because they did it from within Windows with the intention of using it within that operating system. By default, manufacturers tend to format the disks as FAT32 of exFAT, not NTFS. If a Linux user formats his external hard disk as NTFS and it doesn't work right, he has only himself and his shit "operating system" to blame. >> Not a hard concept. > > If you're going to make a broken analogy, use something besides Paris next > time. Replicate it's broken behavior. Two main times Linux users are going to use NTFS: 1) They think Microsoft's proprietary file system is better than the open source ones 2) They are using a file system to share with Windows users In case 1 it makes sense to not care how Windows users use NTFS. In case 2 it does. Amazing to see "advocates" argue for case 1. -- * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mavericks / Pages 5.1: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>

We need a K00K index. -- Each team building another component has been using the most recent tested version of the integrated system as a test bed for debugging its piece. Their work will be set back by having that test bed change under them. Of course it must. But the changes need to be quantized. Then each user has periods of productive stability, interrupted by bursts of test-bed change. This seems to be much less disruptive than a constant rippling and trembling. -- Frederick Brooks Jr., "The Mythical Man Month"
