What is that? I just want to know why you would use such a backwards, incomprehensible operating system. Seriously, Macs are so much easier to use and better all around. Just look at iMessage. There is no 3rd party alternative to that.

There is no 3rd party alternative to that. Not all of us are Linux users. As for iMessage though, there are tons of alternatives to that. Skype and ooVoo are two, both of which are cross-platform unlike iMessage. The open-source ones are different in that they don't provide video but they also don't log your messages to provide them to the cops the way that iMessage does. - -- Silver Slimer Islam is a disease Gab.AI: @silverslimer -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJX/CONAAoJEIwFfgf/rr+uRbEH/0f4BCruMwEmsS7u/nZ/CYha koLRTwcSgB/AiAHQ0Ca1JvTNRNkVAEZWPIO88Sbtq2P87/SpkIK2CkGqRzC+shJ7 xI/foC1ZVg9w2Q5BKvg0ik2IMeUMsyU6ykCRcsweX21rfpDsE1dDg21DvvoUlYXR dwgobJjvvyeOzl3nxXjNjeXpcRH2o0BTNsBRKSfHW45hmPYRizRlarueoSZJtI4j Mu9Xot3pv8PVa9nwVFYi9QsCNRsCKIT+Byxt1wJKkiqfP8szfi8K3lfbvRQm8Hwv Rh2IZiQ4yEWPQ5gMMpo/oqhuSb/Spqs4cfFPkXv3GW0qfz+lFWd0nnTBJT8OgcM= =f5CK -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Yet a few never use linux, which is hypocrisy. The only real way to advocate linux is to use linux and help those trying to get a start with linux.

From the point of working in a job using Windows and simply quitting that job to work in a job that uses/allows Linux just to follow an ideology is what I'm referring to. In that respect I have problem with someone who earns a living with one OS but advocates another OS. The important thing is to put food on the table. I doubt you'll find all the people who work at the GM plant driving GM cars exclusively. One size doesn't fit all. As for Linux jobs of course there are plenty of Linux jobs out there. I don't think that is even in question.

Should be: In that respect I DON't have a problem etc.

If these "countless companies that are selling Linux-powered products" existed as hypochrisv says they do, the Linux "advocates" in this newsgroup (her included), wouldn't have to work at a Windows job to pay the bills. >> Of course, he will get some support from trolling morons like >> -highhorse... - From smart people, sure. > Maybe I'm missing something here but it seems to me that two > scenarios are being blurred into one. > > From the point of working in a job using Windows and simply > quitting that job to work in a job that uses/allows Linux just to > follow an ideology is what I'm referring to. I don't think that > is even in question. The problem for me is that hypochrisv didn't understand what I was referring to. There might be Linux programming jobs, but they are not as plentiful as the "advocates" in this newsgroup suggest because companies producing software, like Corel, Adobe and others, don't hire Linux programmers to make ports of their software for the open-source operating system. Why? Because nobody pays for software in Linux and most potential users would rather bitch "show me the code" than pay even a dollar for indispensable software. Like I said before, if these "countless companies" were hiring people to program on Linux, there wouldn't be so many hypocrites in this newsgroup boasting about Linux all the while using Windows. - -- Silver Slimer Islam is a disease Gab.AI: @silverslimer -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJX/QUkAAoJEIwFfgf/rr+uG9kH/RN/S2RegH3ELxbe0EG2cRk8 agxdJpK6EYsAMwIM7Q0id0gAfOzoDp0xWO3QTu0B9xhqFFnynC7kF80E+3ndmOHb wJjtkSzr0SGHJnQAyIvIQ6rN6xsDhV5W1RUUw9qdAB3+/jvhx3rKvFaY5DY4LYRN kCZZLwgDnhH6IvnT2/Ptg0GJq7OTXhEX9wGzXxq8ti3TuyGVSO6BS6F8Sn04QTz6 TEWyI9hJuAKNmRQurh2q6Oui/f+ptPkyoIhBNgoPKp026RmD4pTEu4LFeiH9OEDO Lu3VEIuS5mgy6b6YaP5lULwNTCFQEWuhwB/5b1HFeOiq0Inga8e33HwQD+nWGTk= =+Njw -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
