On August 30, 2016, WP reported: "Apple paid a tax rate of 1 percent or even less — 0.0005 percent, in some years —..." WP also reports (repeatedly) that Ireland made a special deal with Apple. BTW, Luxembourg does the same kind of thing. The EU Commission is invoking a rule that says members are not permitted to offer special "state aid".
