Gladly, **if** it can meet my performance requirements. FYI, my requirements were stated the last time that you whined about me using Google Groups, so go check the archives to find out what they are. In any case, you've once again avoided the point of the post, which was to illustrate that you most definitely knew that you were being directly asked how you specifically use FOSS to get paid ... put "bread on the table". And once again, you've deflected. And since you replied (with the above GG whine), you don't even have the excuse that you didn't see the post which showed that you're being dishonest. -hh

When "-hh" speaks of "putting breakfast cereal on the table ..." he must be referring to the corporate wonk's breakfast tables. Because selling a licensed product (like Microsoft Office) isn't making a small businessman any money, he makes his money on service. And guess what, "-hh", a business needs support for LibreOffice and Linux just as well as Windows and Microsoft Office. But small computer shops are a dying breed anyhow. Where people make money with software is working for corporations and, again, IT techs and engineers make their money supporting desktops and servers and it doesn't matter what OS is on them or where the applications come from -- they still need tech support. So, "-hh" your argument is vapid and bogus ... and you know it is. -- Zero tolerance for WinDrones and iCultists

Meanwhile, in the real world, yes ABSOLUTELY users are surfing the web and using email and looking on Facebook and finding recipes and lesson plans and art projects and worksheets and they view them and edit them and print them and take notes on them and share them in email and Facebook and save them to notes and on and on and on. People do all sorts of things with their computers... even those things desktop Linux does not compete well with. But notice how you are playing your normal game - the same game you played when you obsessed over Quit and Exit (and, humorously, were wrong about it on the very distro you claimed to use). You pretend that this ONE thing is ALL that matters or is of such great importance that it should overshadow everything else and be deemed as the ONE thing to focus on. YOU are the one who does that, but the you blame me. Amazing to watch. But instead of focusing on you or on me, why don't you rise up and focus on technology and, specifically Linux and how it compares / competes with the competition. THAT would be great. THAT would be a sign you actually can do some advocacy. I would love that. I would congratulate you. I would commend you. But more important you would be TRULY advocating Linux for a change! -- * OS X / Linux: What is a file? <http://youtu.be/_dMbXGLW9PI> * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Easy on OS X / Hard on Linux: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>

DimRabbit seems to have ignored the "market share using the browser are not trustworthy" part. That's been debunked by many analysts. One example is below, there are other websites saying th esame. 1] Looking at www.netmarketshare.com. They show Desktop Browser Version Market Share of Chrome at 25%, whereas gs.statcounter.com show Chrome at 50-58% (Mar 2016 -Mar 2016). So which figure is right? 2] (And this has been said *many* times, in many places) How can you measure a "market share" of something which is *not* sold (like M$ Windows & Apple) but given away? Why NetApplications figures can be inaccurate. Estimates of the percentage of desktops using GNU/Linux range from just barely one percent to somewhere around 10 percent. http://www.datamation.com/osrc/article.php/3818696/Linux-Desktop-Market-Share-Greater-Than-One-Percent.htm -- openSUSE 13.2 64-bit KDE 4.14.9 Kernel: 4.5.0-10.1.gb98c3d3-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 11 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux This message is virus free, as absolutely NO Micro$oft products were used in its preparation. The error of expecting you to stay focused on the topic of P-E-E which is discussed in the context of desktops. Sure, that is an error. Your herd repeatedly moves goal posts on this issue. What you do not do, with the exception of some appreciated effort by Owl, is actually think of tasks where Linux shines or, even better, as Owl tried, actually show such tasks. Here is HIS task: * Download as PDFs all the recipes from the homepage of allrecipes.com (Owl is the one who suggested this). I did several versions... here is one: <https://youtu.be/_J4PppWroWY>. Mine not only worked, but the PDF had selectable text and allowed me to do quick searches on ingredients and the like... something Owl was never able to do on Linux. Worked so well that he and Peter Köhlmann insisted it must have been faked. Frankly I never quite understood the value of the task... seems like something few would want to do. But it does speak to automation, how PDFs are handled by the systems, and some other areas where there is value. So I took him up on the task and the competition did GREAT... as I note it did so well that Owl and Köhlmann insisted the truth simply could not be real. They could not imagine desktop computing to be done as well as the competition did it! -- * OS X / Linux: What is a file? <http://youtu.be/_dMbXGLW9PI> * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Easy on OS X / Hard on Linux: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>
