Linux out dates Microshaft oriffice
----------------------------------

Its not often a sea change happenz but it does happen.

Not so long ago, it were the techies setting
up ad hoc email severs and running circles around their peers
while management swore at the engineers and told
them off to stop using email and use typewriters
and hard copy because that was why money was spent
on printers and wordprocessors.

Those were the days :)

Those days have moved on and now we have swanky
management with their emails and spreadsheets.

Management is outdated again however
with Linux outdating microshat oriffice tools and
email in one fell swoop.

The world has move on to Linux, apache,
php, python, MySQL used to implement intranets,
wiki along with python scripts + daemons to sync the
wiki and intranets, and generate reports by the minute.

You have to be a dinosaur to be pushed into using email
or microshaft oriffice 'productivity' tools.

This new world easily disses the old world
of microshaft oriffice 'productivity' suites and email.

In plain simple numbers, the number of bytes
transferred in the act of communications is
hundreds of times larger for intranets and
wiki than any microshaft oriffice 'productivity' tools
or email systems.

Just check the logs and you got proof that information
use and re-use is very high once its fed into
intranets and wiki.

You would have to be a plain outdated if you can't
measure the difference and extract and extrapolate
the benefits of these new tools.

So much so, its infinitely more easier to run a
business without email and oriffice products.

I might type out 2 email a day now, and write one
document in a month using oriffice products.

The rest of the time is spent ferociously updating
intranet and looking at automated reports.

I know it works, the logs say it works.

All the updates done through wiki are downloaded/used
hundreds of times per day.

And if someone isn't participating, I know that too ;)

What a difference it makes to project management
not having to deal with emails and oriffice products :)

Indeed, the Microsoft offering is much better. We've never sold the
Google service but one of our competitors has but I heard the other day
from one of their customers that they are dropping Google in favour of
Microsoft. I have to say as a business user Office 365 is just awesome
and so reliable.

As a side note, we provide support to the UK office of an Australian
company, they use Google. We are always having to deal with sync issues
for signatures, it's horrible and unreliable. The built in Microsoft
solution and the add on Exclaimer work 100%.

No hallucinations here my friend, though I do worry that your meds might
be giving you some problems as your spelling seems to be way off.

Here's my post again.

Indeed, the Microsoft offering is much better. We've never sold the
Google service but one of our competitors has but I heard the other day
from one of their customers that they are dropping Google in favour of
Microsoft. I have to say as a business user Office 365 is just awesome
