I never said that it didn't. I only said it had nothing to do with "head

Irrelevant. Even my old Motorola "V" mobile had that ability.

It is quite old tech, and certainly nothing apple "invented"

You can speak to your Motorola and tell it to play a certain playlist and
then have it play through your car's entertainment system?

No he can't and he couldn't do 'voice' texts either.

But it could dial a phone number by voice

And that was the idiotic boasting here how "well iPhones integrate into
cars"

It is balderdash. Commanding mobile phones by voice is *old* no matter what
other functions (which did not even exist in that Motorola phone) have been
added later to smartphones

Big whoop. One simple voice use.

Which wasn't boasting at all, just statements of real facts. And what
the iPhone can do with some cars is way beyond what your old Motorola
could do and beyond what Android is doing today.

Right, that's why all modern phones can do it right? Bullshit as usual

That last bit doesn't have to be explicitly stated. It's just a function
of basic bluetooth support.

Holy shit is JED fucking ignorant. He just makes up bullshit, posts it and
then pretends he knows what he's talking about.

The poser should STFU and quit pretending he actually uses or knows about
this stuff. "Voice command" has absolutely nothing with "basic bluetooth
support". Bluetooth itself is just wireless technology. It's like claiming
that this is just a "function of basic" WIFI (802.11) support.

Everything and anything that's done over Bluetooth is handled by which
profiles are implemented/supported by the controller and the target device.
It doesn't matter what that idiot drools... voice control isn't a "basic
function" of Bluetooth.

This profile allows music to be streamed.
    Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
    https://developer.bluetooth.org/TechnologyOverview/Pages/A2DP.aspx

This profile allows device control (skip next/previous)
    Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)

That clown Jed should just STFU because he doesn't have a clue what he is
talking about.

Yes, the two features you are trying to blather on about are ORTHOGONAL.

That is exactly what I've been saying you moron.

[deletia]

One feature does not depend on the other and "integration" is not required.

By all means, show me a telephone before the iPhone which allowed a user
to speak full sentences into the hardware and have it accomplish the
task accurately. After all, you advocates are great at providing
concrete examples and will surely not just insult the people who call
you out on your bullshit.
