No. He made the claim that there are "issues". He should name them, and be

I said the "issues" are so easy to overcome that it is laughable to claim
that they are showstoppers. It amounts to agree to change some libraries
from the distro supplied ones to the ones of the repo.

Only you illiterate cretins see a problem where people who can actually read
just click "OK"

Idiot. Your "reading copmprehension" is snittish. Non-existant.

What will be left of those "issues" if you are able to read simple
sentences? Right. Nothing

The problem with you dimbulbs is that you are unable to comprehend words
which have more than 3 letters.

Nope. We don't like it because it's simply a lie.

The WHOLE POINT of having a good respository system is that it is fairly
comprehensive BY DEFAULT. This is in contrast to something like Mandrake or
old RedHat where everything isn't at your fingertips.

The disclaimers from Suse are just that... disclaimers.

Honest disclaimers for Windows would sound much worse, MacOS probably too.

You you are claiming Suse are liars.
That's funny coming from an imbecile like you.

https://en.opensuse.org/Additional_package_repositories

his is a list of currently existing third-party repositories, meaning
they're external to openSUSE. These packages are not supported by openSUSE,
the packages may not be tested and the repositories can contain beta
versions and other bleeding edge packages.
For official repositories (OSS, non-OSS, Update, Update-Non-OSS) and semi
official repositories (including KDE, GNOME and Java repositories) see
Package repositories.
For information on how to add package repositories see Add package
repositories.
For new Linux and openSUSE users it is recommended to use the 4 default
repositories (OSS, Non-OSS, Update, Update-Non-OSS) and Packman. Later on
when you familiarize yourself with package management you can add more.
Please, make sure that you actually need a specific repository instead of
blindly adding it. More repositories means more complexity in software
management and needs some experience to avoid problems and, in extreme
cases, system failure.
Warning Use it at your own risk.

Not liars, paranoid. It's a common legal problem.

[deletia]

There's a cooking show that used to make fun of this stuff. Anything that
was a sufficiently paranoid would trigger comic bits with lawyers and members
of law enforcement looking like "men in black".

It's much like how ANY software you care to name disclaims the UCC.

Yet ol' Jed refused to address the link provided to OpenSuse on
repositories. It figures. Lies by ommission, eh JED?

Sure it is Jed, sure it is. OpenSuse updates don't always work because
OpenSuse didn't include all of the necessary repositories. So where you
get them and from where?
IT IS a mess!

More FUD. At least there is only ONE repository for windows. No unmet
dependencies. The same for OS X. MacOS is from the previous generation
in case you brain hurts.

Nope. Besides this is no worse than a Windows or Mac user needing to
know where to get 3rd party software for that platform.

A suitable number of repositories are pre-installed and work just like
the Apple store (that's a knock-off of apt-get).

Nope. That's just your own twisted fantasy.

If people are so timid and frightened, they shouldn't be doing random
things with ANY OS. They aren't going to experiment with weird things
that will blow their system up.

Nope in the case of a Linux lover or geeks. It isn't as findable as
stuff for Windows or OSX.

I don't disagree. Average home user shouldn't be using something as
poorly supported as Linux desktop. Nor should they be delving into the
innards of other OS's unless they are willing to do the work involved in
learning enough to make that interesting and fun for them.

Actually, it has since been determined that I was correct in assuming
you were referring to the libraries as well. I don't expect an apology
from a delusional maniac like you though.

Just a quick sampling:

Enter key does not work either on JDK 6 or 7
  -- In NetBeans

Install failed: unmet dependencies
  -- In SciLab

php5-ps segmentation fault on ps_setfont (64bit)
  -- In PHP ps

postinst fails when names have unusual characters
  -- In Samba 4

Not a one of which is either specific to, or a result of, Ubuntu. As you
point out, LGX, unlike Redmondware, has a tendency to be open and up
front about issues, rather than keeping quiet about them.

The creator of "The Principle Of Goodness" in action... good one, Out House!

Lots of other scum promise that 'Linux just works'. They're called
'Linux advocates' and they blab it a LOT. In fact, there's a whole
website devoted to spreading the bullshit lie:

Ron House and Gitie House have been conducting a quest for truth, or

Unfortunately that message was a threat to the power of those leaders,

Actually, the greatest scum this newsgroup has ever seen, John
GodHesDumb says it all the time. Not only that but your president,
Joseph Michael, takes great care in reminding us how it "just works"
with every one of his posts.

Linux works a WHOLE LOT BETTER than the Malware Magnet Hobbyware OS from
Redmond. Much, much faster to install, much easier to maintain and a
whole lot more secure and solid.

If you want it to "just work" use one of the established, non-bleeding
edge distributions -- like Linux Mint on Mate. That's what I do -- and,
for me, it does "just work." But some folks want the newest features and
they realize that will require more work. Kind of like Malware Magnet
Hobbyware OS and the way M$ uses their early adapters as beta testers --
though bleeding edge Linux distributions are more stable than M$ Crapware.
