That's pretty obvious when one stops to realize anybody who isn't M$
either gives away their software or is in a niche M$ isn't interested in
or can't enter.

There's also the fact they get to sell M$-Orifice to Crapple owners for
big money, and even Windoze itself.

Not remarkable at all, when you consider how in the 21st Century, the
minimum requirements to have a virtual storefront are down to ~$10/month.

Yes, Linux has evolved to be 'more than adequate' for 1990's vintage jobs.
Which is something to keep in mind the next time that I need to grab an install
disk before jumping into a time machine heading back into an age where the
IT systems carried far lower expectations than today.

A claim which is based on ... just what ... reference sources?

Once again, you're trying to make yourself feel less bad by trying to drag
others down to your level, and you've once again demonstrated that you're
not above lying.

Not when you end up _trying_ to equate a multi-billion dollar corporation
to a high school kid who dabbles on a distro during spring break.

Nope, it is what you're doing when you set such low expectations, which
is also why you try to hide behind a "[deletia]" rather than to acknowledge
the point, which was that Linux appeals to consumers with low product
expectations. Case in point, your own words:

JED: "...enough to be useful..."

RonB: "[Hate from others is] all it takes to be a success."

As usual, it is quite clear where the bitterness comes from, namely
the aftertaste of Linux. A rock isn't a can opener, yet it can do
enough damage to a can of beans to allow a desperate starving man
to open it, so a rock gets summarized as "enough to be useful" type
of replacement when one is lacking the actual right tool for the job.

> Your idea of "success" is appearing to be able to waste money
> you don't really have and being insolvent.

A claim which is merely your wishful thinking as a defense mechanism
to try to avoid reality giving you yet another smack right between the eyes.

Windows is a failure because it's designed to make money instead of
catering to its customers. You must learn to adopt to it, it will not be
adopted to you. It is owned by a monopoly. It requires reboots constantly
for almost every application installation. When it goes bonkers you have
to reboot it ... and reboot it ... and reboot it ... and then (often)
reinstall it. It incorporates the most pathetic file system ever designed
and the Registry file is corruption waiting to happen. Windows suffers
from bitrot. It is, by design, a malware magnet. By design it has
numerous backdoors, which is partly why it is a malware magnet. It is
often owned and used by mouth-breathing, mental midget morons who hate it
so much that they would rather spew 24/7 in a Linux Advocacy than
actually use their Windows Malware Magnet shit.

Anyone thinking of trying Linux please read the above post, left
fully intact.
This is the type of lunatic Linux user that you will become very
familiar with. Why? Because Linux won't work correctly out of the box
for you, completely normal BTW, and these type of people will be the
ones you will be turning to for help.

Just read what this Linux using raving lunatic has written.
Is this a bitter, jealous person or what?

The Linux community is loaded with people like ronb.
Is this the type of people you would like to associate with?

The COLA "herd" actively works to dissuade people from using Linux.

Yes indeed! Ronb is A-1 in my books. I'd be proud to be associated

A hell of a lot better than being part of a frightened flock of sheep
who attack anyone who leaves, that's for sure.

"It's better in the flock. See how many more of us than there are of
you? That proves it."

Sheesh.

The flock is not so bad.

It's the trolls that you really want to hun.

    You can pity the rubes.

This is actually more likely to be the case for Windows than Linux.

People have just learned to tolerate the crap because they think they
are trapped. This goes back to when MS-DOS was nearly putting Apple
    out of business.

Windows never works nearly as well as Lemmings try to claim.

It only makes money for Microsoft IF it caters to the customers. For
example, if desktop Linux catered to them better - given how it is free - MS
would fizzle out quickly (or have to improve what they offer).

Apple, in many ways, DOES cater to customers better BUT they do so at a
higher cost (Apple does not serve the low end). So while Apple caters very
well to many people there are many who will end up with Windows or Android
(and of course there are times those are just better fits anyway).

> You must learn to adopt to it, it will not be adopted to you. It is owned by a

No, it is not.

No, it does not. And your claiming this shows MASSIVE ignorance about it.

> When it goes bonkers you have to reboot it ... and reboot it ... and reboot it
> ... and then (often) reinstall it.

What? Why re-install what you already installed?

And with the rebooting you are confusing system updates, which DO what you
say too often, with app updates which rarely require a reboot.

> It incorporates the most pathetic file system ever designed

Maybe you can explain some of the weaknesses you think it has.

Or not. :)

> and the Registry file is corruption waiting to happen.

I agree the Registry is a poor design, but when was the last time you saw
corruption? Been years for me.

How does it suffer from this any more than Linux?

And, then, you must think the same of Android, right?

What backdoors?

And here you just spew your anger. Yes, you are very angry at the choices
you have made. OK.

Some more idiotic blathering from wRonG. Windows isn't a failure by any
metric.

If I did not use Windows, what would be my basis for agreeing with ronb
