#689608 — Endeavour OS

SubjectEndeavour OS

Just replaced Linux Mint with Endeavour OS on my work laptop. It runs on
Wayland by default, it has support for Broadcom wireless chips from the
live environment, it supports the Thrustmaster controller without
modification, and it supports suspend and hibernation reliably. The best
part is that according to DFS's compiled list, it is not a woke
distribution.

It's hard to keep up with your changes, but choice is good.

I'm very principled when it comes to progressives. If there is reason to
believe that they have any influence whatsoever over the technology I
use, I am glad to be rid of it. I've used Apple and Microsoft's stuff
and accepted this for way too long not to migrate whenever these clowns
reveal themselves.

It doesn't matter what he reads. He checked whether Endeavour had a code
of conduct and a diversity statement. To both, the answer was no. That
generally indicates that a distribution is intent on focusing on the
work, not the identity of the contributors.

Oh but it did, in this case. He was so desperate to find some article that
had something complimentary to say about Microsoft’s products, that he
blundered into a left-leaning site.

What’s the term for someone who says one thing, but does another?

Well, the information still served a purpose. I was able to pinpoint
Endeavour as a distribution with no allegiance to the Church of Woke
which allowed me to use KDE and Wayland. Regardless of DFS himself, his
information proved to be invaluable to me.

Apologies for running him off COLA, but going by a non-woke list
sounds lame. I know Mint to be a decent way to use Linux, though.

DFS probably just got fed up of this place. It happens so routinely that
I doubt anyone can really take credit for "running him off." Otherwise,
I could be credited for running off Peter Köhlmann. The more likely
scenario is that he simply decided to spend more time with his family or
that he died.

DumFSck was a rotten, lying bastard from day one, in here. That was
about twenty years ago.

He killfiled me right before he stopped posting, because I was talking
sexually about what would be major gay sex with a trans woman.

I've thought about killfiling you for the same reason. For me it's mostly
I don't give a shit, meaning I don't need to know and don't want to know.
That goes for the hetero male assholes who feel it necessary to brag about
last night's conquest.

When and why did someone's sex life become fodder for public discussion? It
seems to be the only "identity" some of the Woke have. (And it's not always
the Woke who yammer on about it incessantly.) Basically I just want to say
to them, "Grow up."
