So I opened a .pptx file with LO 6.1.0.3 for Windows.

Nearly every page is extremely garbled, if not completely unreadable.

Clearly, you've edited the image to make it look worse than it is and we
will all now demonize you as a spawn of Snit and such.

D'oh! I can confirm that it doesn't open properly here on the latest
version of LibreOffice. The first two slides seem okay but the third is
clearly garbled up. However, I wonder whether a similar presentation
produced in LibreOffice Impress would have ended up in the same way if
opened in Microsoft Office. If not, wouldn't it be correct to assume
that maybe the _format_, not the software, is the issue?

I don't entirely trust the OfficeOpen XML format.

Idiot. Sockboy has yet to show how Linux does anything above the lowest common denominator on Linux.

While it is different mistakes, Keynote also has problems with it.

Just responded to a post by Carroll where he insinuated I do not use
evidence to back what I claim. But the real issue people in COLA have
with me, including you and Carroll, is I *DO* generally use strong
evidence.

LOL!

Ironically, I have xx.ppt files that LO opens with no problems. In any
event, the overlapping layers are still coming into LO, they're just not
displaying properly. Can you show a screen shot of #3 in MSO so I can
see what it's supposed to look like?

Thanks. I saw the first one in LO on my Mac but I don't have MSO
on any platform). I was playing with the layout for a bit to see what
the issue might've been, didn't get it to look like that, though.

What did Klaus Schadenfreude have to say about this miraculous, years long string of oddities? Most of the time he would try to push the reader to believe they're real people who just happened to have not enough brains to see through his lies. Yeah, right! Some time ago I did work on and showed some Visual C++ for the front end (only works on high end systems) which is the only thing you can do when trying to avoid Klaus Schadenfreude's nonstop crap while reading with Google Groups.

With no support at all, as is usual for Klaus Schadenfreude.

I thought showing Klaus Schadenfreude a taste of his own medicine might help the situation. It did not.

Looks like Office wins with OfficeOpen XML files... now, I wonder how it
would do with .odt or .ods files.

There are scores of pptx files online describing RSA. All of the ones
I've tried open perfectly in LO.

Looks like you got that POS doc here:

https://www.coursehero.com/file/33983119/03-RSApptx/

Not subscribing just to download it though.

Let's see how it looks in MS Office.

The Stooge must have gotten up way before the chickens this morning.
He's obviously been searching for hours and hours to find this rare tidbit.

But what has he accomplished? Absolutely nothing. Less than nothing,
actually.

Let us all congratulate the fool for the most USELESS time spent.

"Works for me!"

People love to hear that...

I got it here:
https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnxtYXRoNmFmYWxsMjAxOHxneDozODdlYmEwODM5NTFlNjkw

It looks fine onscreen in my Opera browser (Google doc viewer). Now
click the download icon at upper right and it will force/save to your
default download folder with no name or destination prompting (at least
it did on my Windows system).

Then I navigated to the file, right-clicked and chose Open With | LO
Impress.

I don't have a version of Office that will open .pptx files. But I
converted it to .ppt and it looks fine in PowerPoint 2003 and LO Impress
for Windows.

It's Snit's problem and he has to want to deal with it. Obviously he would rather blame others than face reality. Just some names Steve Carroll has used
    "Evil" John *
    "Evil" Snit *
Big Crotch on a Small Fish
    Cornelius Munshower
    CSMA Moderator
    Edward Stanfield
    Fretwiz *
    Hitman Hero
    Measles
    Petruzzellis Kids
    Sigmond
    Slaveen
    Smit
    Steve C *
    Steve Camoll *
    Steve Carroll <noone@xxxxxxxxxxx> *
    Steve Carroll <stevecarroll@xxxxxxxxxxx> *
    Steve Carroll <trollkiller@xxxxxx> *
    Steve Carroll's Dog *
    Steve Carrolll *
    Steve Carrroll *
    Yevette Owens
    Yobo_Obyo
Taking time possibly educating yourself isn't a waste. Thinking you know everything and taking it on yourself to persuade Klaus Schadenfreude that it is true, as Snit tries to do? That is a waste ;)

These losers get their thrill out of provoking emotional responses to their nonsense, which is the very definition of a troll.

Keynote does not handle it well, either. This is the same page:

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They
cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.
