Just started playing with Windows 10 in the last few days... still have not dug much into it. But from what I have seen I am not impressed, esp. when you look at going between the two different UI paradigms: Tablet Mode and Desktop Mode: <https://youtu.be/tKxKyv1K91s>. Really, what is MS thinking? They have some good ideas there, but there is a lot that needs to be fixed. -- * OS X / Linux: What is a file? <http://youtu.be/_dMbXGLW9PI> * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Easy on OS X / Hard on Linux: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>

If you want to see how to use tablet mode here's a beginner's guide: http://www.gcflearnfree.org/windows10/using-windows-10-tablet When I click the Task View button it immediately shows my running applications. I do not have to click it three times. How much memory are you giving your VM? If it's fine, I would suggest submitting a bug report to Microsoft. Even in a VM it should work correctly. But if you're using a tech preview, then you're a dishonest idiot. This problem doesn't exist with a real copy of Windows 10 running on real hardware. And if you're going to use tablet mode, it would be wise to bone up on the features of tablet mode and how to get to them (optimized for touch remember) before spouting off like an idiot.

OK, given how you could not support your claim I decided to check it myself on another computer. I remotely connected to a Windows 10 machine, opened Notepad, typed some text, went to Tablet Mode, and minimized. The "Task View" worked with a single click. So does it fail from being in a VM? From being upgraded from Windows 7? Curious. Even with all your trolling, thank you for the reasons to go check with another machine. If you want I can show a video of the other one. LOL. So you have no idea how the software works. Ok. > Remember, different programs might lead to different results > (and as I show below not all programs even have a minimize button at all!) So different programs might lead to different results (snicker) but in your original video you decided to show one program, not check any others, and blame Windows 10 when it was a user error? Face it, you have no idea what you're doing and now you're trying to save face any way possible. If you were really competent you would have tested other apps and how they behaved, you would have realized that it was very odd, searched online and found no one else with the same issue, then tested again with a setup that wasn't fucked. But you only tested notepad, never bothered to verify, and now are trying to claim that because I didn't show an exact video of notepad working, that I didn't show any evidence, even though I was 100% correct and you're a dope. Amazing. > > >> I decided to check it myself > >> on another computer. There's no challenge. Every written there is fact. And on topic since it directly refuted your original post. You were wrong. And instead of admitting I showed you, you have resorted to lying. Typical. Of course, this calls into question other videos you have posted which I have not bothered to verify. Maybe others have, so I'll keep an eye out for that. I just accepted that they were legit before, because it seemed reasonable. But you've demonstrated such incompetence that now every video is going to have to be scrutinized since you won't do a minimum amount of work to verify you results before rushing off to post it.

I just accepted that they were legit before, because it > seemed reasonable. But you've demonstrated such incompetence that now > every video is going to have to be scrutinized since you won't do a > minimum amount of work to verify you results before rushing off to post it. You do realize you said NOTHING about technology in your post and just spewed insults and accusations to try to move the goal post from your many errors. You claimed Desktop and Tablet mode, for example, had the same layout and there were no differences in the UI (the first of which was wrong, and the second of which was not just wrong but idiotic - why have two modes if they are the same?). You also claimed what I showed was from running on a VM or running a beta copy. While I was running in a VM, I TOLD YOU THAT, and I was not running a beta. You made that up. It does, of course, have the other issues which are just a part of how Windows 10 works by default: 1) Desktop Mode has application icons in task bar. These are gone in Tablet Mode. This shows a different default UI / Layout, though you can configure this in each. 2) Desktop Mode has a default search field in the task bar. This is available with a click, but not directly visible in Tablet Mode. Again a different UI and layout (and again configurable) 3) Desktop Mode has a "Start Button" where you see a list of applications PLUS tiles. Tablet Mode has those same tiles with no need to click a button to get to them (but larger and the "blocks" of such buttons are, rearranged into a different layout) 4) Desktop mode's Start Button shows you things such as "Settings" and "File Explorer" and "All Apps". The same button on Tablet mode does nothing when you minimize a program and otherwise acts as a way to hide programs to get to the tile screen. Meanwhile, there is a button *above* the Start button which gets you to "All Apps", but to get to the other items such as "Settings and File Explorer" you need to go to an icon at the TOP of the screen. 5) If you are in Tablet mode and are viewing the feature which shows the options for "File Explorer", "Settings" and more and move to Desktop mode, those items stay visible (though they move). If you go the other direction, from Desktop mode to Tablet, they are hidden and take two clicks to get back to. 6) In many programs the "Restore Down" button, which works in Desktop Mode, is still available in "Tablet Mode" but does nothing. This is true not just of non-Microsoft programs which have not been updated (Chrome as an example), but even of programs from Microsoft which (in their About box) claim to be designed for Windows 10 (Notepad is an example). 7) In other programs, such as the new Browser (Edge), the "Restore Down" and "Minimize" buttons are completely gone when you enter Tablet Mode. Even the "Close" button is gone! 8) When you have apps in half screen, on Desktop Mode they can then be resized to overlap each other. On Tablet Mode they cannot. This shows the layout is quite different in the two modes. 9) In Desktop mode the windows only have very subtle ways to show you which is the front window, a very faint blue line around them and a subtle shadow you can barely see on a dark background (and even on a light one it is not strong). All of this goes against your nonsense about Desktop and Tablet modes having the same UI and layouts - things change (as they should, by the way... if not why have the two modes!) In other words: my installation had a quirk, which I have tracked down to being tied to the Parallels driver (which is disappointing) and am open and honest about it. You, on the other hand, made claims which were silly and made no sense, and you have yet to acknowledge them. Even more important, though, I am spending time to learn how to use it where you are spending time advertising your insecurity, pretending to be knowledgeable about things you know nothing about, lying, failing to back any points you make which even accidently turn out to be correct, and avoiding speaking of technology as much as you can. -- * OS X / Linux: What is a file? <http://youtu.be/_dMbXGLW9PI> * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Easy on OS X / Hard on Linux: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>

Your interpretation of my claims is what is silly. And your ignorance on the issues makes no sense. You're the one claiming iOS has two different UIs because landscape and portrait are slightly different. > Even more important, though, I am spending time to learn how to use it If you were spending time learning how to use it, you would have put in the effort to verify some of your statements before rushing out to post a video. You were wrong, and then you lied about it.

You were wrong, and then you lied about it. You snipped pretty much everything I said about Windows 10 to insult, attack, lie, and pretend to be knowledgeable about things you are clearly clueless about. Comes down to your claims about the UI and layout not changing were completely and utterly idiotic. They made no sense. And you are ashamed. Fine. You will just snip any comments about Windows itself because you cannot stand to even think about it. Why do you play this game over and over where you demonstrate how you have a need to pretend to be knowledgeable about things you know NOTHING about? -- * OS X / Linux: What is a file? <http://youtu.be/_dMbXGLW9PI> * Mint MATE Trash, Panel, Menu: <http://youtu.be/C0y74FIf7uE> * Mint KDE working with folders: <http://youtu.be/7C9nvniOoE0> * Mint KDE creating files: <http://youtu.be/N7-fZJaJUv8> * Mint KDE help: <http://youtu.be/3ikizUd3sa8> * Mint KDE general navigation: <http://youtu.be/t9y14yZtQuI> * Mint KDE bugs or Easter eggs? <http://youtu.be/CU-whJQvtfA> * Easy on OS X / Hard on Linux: <http://youtu.be/D3BPWANQoIk> * OS / Word Processor Comparison: <http://youtu.be/w6Qcl-w7s5c>

What errors did he make? I was unable to reproduce the click-three-times problem you were having, even in a VM (build 10240 Enterprise Eval). > You claimed Desktop and Tablet mode, for example, had the same > layout and there were no differences in the UI (the first of which was > wrong, and the second of which was not just wrong but idiotic - why have two > modes if they are the same?). Where did he claim that?
