...I dunno. It seems like something where the results don't matter. I don't
care if NTFS can copy "large files" faster. I am not out for speed. I am out
for reliability and control. If I am doing something "big" then I don't really
want it the fastest because it's likely some sort of batch or background
process.
I probably want it as NICE as possible.

I find it rather hypocritical of Turdv to say such a thing. He still uses windows. But in the older days, I was using Caldera Linux and lied thru my teeth to keep in good favor of this "herd". Now that I go to windows 7, I'm not in favor with this "herd".

Lie like hell about linux > and you are in. Baaaaa.... Baaaaa. I honestly think that there great projects in open-source: FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Ogg Opus, VLC, LibreOffice, GIMP, Krita, etc.. However, all but one of those are available to Windows users who desire them. _WE_ would be lying if we claimed that those were bad even though they are worse than what is commercially available. However, for free projects, they are excellent. In the case of OGG Vorbis, it is by far the most capable lossy format in addition to having the best quality, FLAC is by far the best lossless format, VLC is by far the best media player you can get and GIMP, let's face it, kicks ass for what it gives away. If Linux were great as well, I'd say so. In some conditions, it is the most perfect system you can install. On old machines, on modest hardware, etc.. On recent hardware though, it's not worth using. -- Slimer Encrypt.

Ever watch The Da Vinci Code? The Linux losers remind me of that pale-skinned fanatic who would whip himself to emulate Christ's suffering. I imagine that they do the same thing to emulate the suffering of anyone forced to listen to Wretched Stallman speak: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8V_6M4lmgY On the other hand, using Linux on a daily basis is equivalent torture. < snip > -- Slimer Encrypt.

Anyway, I wished SCO never bought out Caldera. Caldera linux was the only one out there that actually worked right and also had the gui based admin tools that worked well. I can imagine how it would've looked with the newer Xorg X. > > >> Now that I go to windows 7, I'm not in favor with this "herd". > > They prefer their hypocrites to not admit it. Like Marti did? Yes, he got the whip too, just like I did. LOL!!!

I guess DFS used a crappy SATA driver for the Mint and well tuned commercial SATA driver in the Windoze. That's the problem with Linux, hardware is not supported as well as in the M$World ... SATA speed on the chipset makes a hell of difference!
