Nope. I might have said that I do my own books, but that doesn’t make
one an accountant. FYI, a quick check of the archives suggests that you
were the first to suggest it.

And now the ‘retired’ part too. Nope.

Granted, I’ve done+invested well enough to have debated retiring early (as
in before age 60), but that’s still some time off, plus I’m enjoying what I’m
currently doing, so having a bigger “fun budget” is just fine.

Oh, please. I’ve frequently hammered Linux fanboys on so much basic
stuff (such as ROI) that I’m surprised that some of them are actually smart
enough to breath without assistance.

And even though there’s been many other topics too, perhaps it’s because
money is such a constant irritation for them IRL that it is particularly irritating
to be reminded of it yet again (“7000x better”!) in what they want to be their feel
good about themselves ‘escape place’ of COLA.

Then it must be because of your tendency to approach every discussion
in this os-advocacy group from an accounting perspective.

Every? Not really, but I’ll read your statistical analysis. Without bothering to check,
I’d say that my most common post type is probably to make note of peoples’ errors,
fails, and self-contradictions.

Hehe. Yeah, the fact that he admits to being too stupid to choose a
Linux distro isn't a good sign.

Am I getting that right, -highhorse? or is your actual position that,
with a reasonable effort, *you* could choose one, but most people
could not?

No, you are once again factually wrong.

> or is your actual position that, with a reasonable effort, *you*
> could choose one, but most people could not?

Nope. And that's a pretty weak straw man attempt too!

What was being referred to wasn't anything directly dealing with
the many flavors of Linux (abandoned or otherwise), but about
how particularly inept many COLA Linux advocates are about the
non-digiteri aspects of their life, such as personal finances.

Case in point, why don't you tell us where some of your own
discretionary spending went over the past five years, be it on
nice cars, vacations, a second house, maxed out 401(k), etc.

After all, if you really are as wonderfully good as you try to imply,
you have to be rolling in the dough and struggling to spend it all.

Yes, your new signature is still ironically quite accurate. /S

Still true.

<more BS snipped>

That would be where I said “But these days, the people who work for me
are who write the tech specs that eventually trickle down to the programmers.”

Apparently, it’s beyond Chris’s comprehension to believe that a programmer
can ever work their way up to Poject Manager or even to the Chief of the group.

> Where's your GitHub project bwah?

I could ask the team and then email it to your @mail.mil account ... but wait! Your
address listing in NIPRnet Global is **gone**. What happened to your job Chris?
Did your company lose their Navy contract, or did you get punted off the team?

Hopefully not even worse than that...like being stupid enough to put Fed work product
up on an external open website where it will be harvested by adversarial Nations.
Did you have a clearance to lose, Chris?

Its pure work for me - typical work day is full of ssh,
gedit, HTML editing, OpenSCAD, LibreCAD, KiCAD, FreeCAD, Libreoffice
Eclipse (and variants), gimp and then its time to go sleep.
