People are constantly calling me, knocking on my door; I have to go out and do things, etc.

You need to learn the meaning of altruistic; once you do, you'll see very, very few FOSS projects are - they almost always want something in return. The worst thing they want is your code; is it "Free" software, or is it "Give us your mods" software? > Such projects always improve over time and some, Of course; they couldn't get any worse. > like the GIMP and LibreOffice, attain legendary status. Is that what that dummy coughed up? It is an EXTREMELY POOR solution and I will NOT state the reason which should be obvious. What you need to do is match the digit substring at the end of the line and then replace with substring inclusion. Here is an example with sed: sed -E "s/\.+([0-9]+)$/ \1/g" file.txt Since I am not currently at my wonderful and fantastic GNU/Linux machine I cannot test this but the construction, which is off the top of my head, should be very close.

Not there yet. That sed command removed only a portion of the period strings. There is supposed to be CONSISTENCY. The key is to construct a regex that will not touch anything else but the TOC. There could be similar patterns somewhere else that must be left alone. Therefore, focusing on the digit string at the end of the line is a good approach.

Really, just use > vim. :) I've worked in or with the technology field for 15 years. I have had a contract with large corporations selling to governments and the insurance industry. Never, with even a hint, were we on any account under a contractual obligation not to install any other OS. We sold Linux, Lisa, IRIX, and more alongside Microsoft OSs with no issues. I thought showing someone a taste of his own medicine might help the situation. It did not. Nobody is being controlled by Microsoft. bigdog is far too unintelligent to write a quality script. The only scripting he's capable of doing is simple stuff I did years ago. bigdog should grasp Rudy Canoza knows he is just being a moron. Lots of trolls are still talking about the GNU/Linux "environment" as if something like that seriously would be a good thing. bigdog proved himself to be a liar by claiming he would not debate Rudy Canoza by means of emphatically announcing 'goodbye forever!' and then abusing him anyhow via piggybacking. Thanks to bigdog and his 'convenient friends' you now need a reverse spam filter. If others start responding to him again I will jump in... as if for not other reason than to get revenge. I'm referring to good people here, not idiots, who will never agree to stop. -- Best CMS Solution of 2017! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZNxaaKD7-c Jonas Eklundh Communication AB

Adjacent is a virtual terminal (uxterm) from which gcc or make or gdb can be executed on the source tree. Any output can be addressed in cooledit. Gcc or make can be executed from within cooledit as well but the dual cooledit/uxterm approach is preferred. Such a combo beats any bloated, whacko GUI like VSC.

"Missed it by that much" said Jonas Eklundh's boyfriend. You are as clever as a gibber monkey. I am working on a program which will blow what Linux has away. All that he cares about is that Jonas Eklundh gets to deal out his crank call and then hang up and giggle about it. The fact that Silver "Doomsdrzej" Slimer is an unwitting victim on the other end of the phone is what's funny. You can say I am James Bond for all I care. I am devotee of Bash, because that's where all the stimulating ingenuity is happening. Why would you want to restrict Bash on GNU/Linux to what can be done on commercial OSs? Jonas Eklundh was once again a two-timer by claiming he would not rebut Silver "Doomsdrzej" Slimer via emphatically shouting 'score: -999' and then ambushing him again using piggybacking. -- I Left My Husband & Daughter At Home And THIS happened http://www.5z8.info/killallimmigrants_t8w8io_asian-brides Jonas Eklundh
