Just hogwash from Steve Carroll. But Steve Carroll has completely left tech behind and is merely holding me responsible for the actions of himself. Time to blame the Russians! If Steve Carroll calls having his ass handed to him like an idiot day in and day out by numerous people (and completely trashing his reputation and any reason for me to believe anything he has to say - until the cows come home) successful 'trolling', then whatever... he is a fine troll. I can not personally agree with that view, I use another term. I call him a total mouth-breather. That's what Steve Carroll does when he gets mad. He immediately creates a flood, starts a trolling thread so he can claim here made a mistake. Don't blame me it was my left hand... and then he responds to his own post with his right hand.

Clearly there are too many "slow is good enough" freetards and not enough users with a clue enough to help the people with Macs.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Lines of text containing words from Rudy Canoza twisted horridly by Steve Carroll. What Rudy Canoza does is certainly better.

What Stallman and Steve Jobs have in common is that they didn't
contribute anything usable as much as they contributed smart, common
sense ideas to other people's work. It seems to be a Pisces trait.

Seriously, tell me what Stallman has coded recently or even
historically that is of note.

EMACS, which lots and lots of highly skilled and experienced
technical people (that excludes you) consider to be the best
and most comprehensive editor on planet Earth.

POSIX, the global standard for OS interopability, and the
standard that Microshit does not adopt because to do so
would mean it would have to fairly compete.

Want more to satisfy your girlish curiosity?

Do your own research.

Stallman also wrote the original gcc and gdb, which are far
more important than emacs.

But Cooledit is the best.

However, somebody (don't look at me) has to update this
fine software. The built-in debugger, for example, does not
work completely with the latest version of gdb, the GNU Debugger.
There are other minor issues like this as well.

But overall Cooledit still does the job of EXCEPTIONAL text
editing.

With such outstanding developmental tools available, it is a
mystery why people still flock to that junk Microshit.

It is a mystery until we consider the issue of idiocy.

Rudy 'Super Troll' Canoza is a fool folks have kill filed his socks. What he really should use is one that keeps switching names, then they'd have a chance at being a fraction as repetitive as he is. These posts are clearly at most partially automated, they are made by a glue sniffing stalker with a sick agenda who has way too much time on his hands. It's a piece of cake to essentially lie by bragging about a handful of isolated examples differing from what's mainstream. What is more honest from an advocacy outlook are the common circumstances.

I don't accept that. Mental incapacity is mental incapacity and there are all kinds of people who are okay with it. Too many are even doctors.Rudy 'Super Troll' Canoza doesn't have any idea what he is sniveling about.

On topic discussions will be destroyed once those of us here before the eternal September are outnumbered. That, and there will invariably be a temper tantrum or two in an unmoderated news group. The impossibility of taming a shrew aside, we have all seen who usually blames others when he does not get anyone to shill for him. The guy is as loved as a fart in a spacesuit -- and with good reason.

Was that meant to be to me?

with, of course, keyboard "shortcuts"

UTF-8 capable

syntax highlighting

Uses X graphical toolkits -- no dependence on
the latest GTK, Qt, etc.

Allows multiple windows

Sophisticated search/replace using regex and
C scanf format

Auto formatting of paragraphs

Uses anti-aliased X fonts

More than I can't think of right now

Wow... it seems like this editor can be made every
bit as 'modern' as any of these new fangled ones.

Vim does most, if not all, of what you list with its GUI variant.
But I don't understand why you insist on a GUI editor, and a broken
one at that.

Real discussion will leave once the waters are overfished. That and there will perpetually be a temper tantrum or two in an open group (e.g. Melzzz). The current tantrum aside, we've all seen who routinely pitches a fit when he does not get anyone on his side. I can defeat a monkey with my thoughts. You used it and deleted competing systems and your "amazing brain powers" lead you to that opinion, so what? Generally, I wouldn't call a claim like Melzzz's posts a fantasy until you disprove it (as you are here) and Melzzz responds with the same thing again with one of his socks. You are safe as a GIMP user can be.

Klaus Schadenfreude's computer has more scripts than Melzzz's. Klaus Schadenfreude wins. Melzzz loses. Nothing LCD about it. Believe it or not, just recently he was declaring himself the only "true Linux advocate", and claiming that "advocates" (in irony-quotes just to annoy Klaus Schadenfreude) are trying to make Linux become like the Mac. What it looks like is what it is and not worth obsessing over, especially if it's support is good.

For some real fun go into vim groups and declare emacs superior.
Do the opposite in emacs groups.
So much fun!

Spare us. ONLY GuhNoo and Linux compete unfairly by giving away all
their work for free.

If someone walked into your workplace and offered to do your job for
free you'd scream bloody murder.

To that I can only offer these condolences: boo fuckin' hoo

By following 'teachers' like that you get laws like 'affirmative action'. Carried to its (il)logical resolution, the insistence that it's 'insensitive' for a traditional dude to not wish to screw a child is established. HA! How did Just 'The Fool' Wondering get _so_ egotistical he believes everything is about himself?? Just 'The Fool' Wondering's posts are nothing but a meaningless babble.

A sucking vacuum of ideas, magnified by the reciprocal of the endless vastness of space, demonstrating the vast nothingness of Just 'The Fool' Wondering's so-called thought process. The guy is as well liked as a rattle snake in a lucky dip -- and with good cause. Can you knock off seeking for my attention? This is what happens when deeply bad self confidence takes over Just 'The Fool' Wondering's entire life.

Commercial software no longer has any value. The design
of the standard computing utilities, such as word processors,
spreadsheets, databases, image/audio/video processing,
etc., has been set in stone DECADES ago. Innovation and
progress are no longer possible. For a commercial company
to charge the exorbitant prices which they do for these
basic commodities is nothing short of EXTORTION.

Commercial companies are now being kept alive by gimmicks
and other deceptions of "progress" and they are fast
moving toward an extortionate subscription model.

The intelligent computer user has long along fled from
this lunacy and adopted GNU/Linux/FOSS.

Only the hordes of clueless idiots -- and that includes
YOU -- are left to sustain this lunatic commercialism.

No, Microshit CANNOT compete fairly. Their continual
introduction of their own "standards" is nothing less
than protectionism. If Microshit were to base its
software on the independent global standards then they
would be drowned within the myriad of other competent
producers. This is undeniable fact.

Hail Linux!

Hail GNU and the FSF!

Hail Stallman

Fuck Microshit and all of its idiot supporters!
